Lesson learned.
And here I thought they figured out Minhas wasn’t good.I think the restaurant is separate and no longer has the rights to the Berghoff Brewery name so they have to call their own beer something else.

What price are they asking? I'd give up a lot for it but I like BarleywinesCan I get some FIB feedback on whether the price of admission is worth it for Hand of Glory from Holy Mountain?

This trade that just closed on BTS, Hand of Glory for a PS4, has me ready to remove myself from all things beer related. Yeah yeah, "as long as both sides are happy." Whatever. **** is beyond dumb.

I would trade $200 in secondary worth of beer/mead.$200 seems to be the low end now.
Also like BWs so willing to bite the bullet in a rare instance if worth it.
Apparently a PS4 (new in box of course).

Old school
And cheapskate
If it was, the system won't last as long as that opened bottle. As long as it wasn't a PS4 Pro
Oh, it absolutely is.Can I get some FIB feedback on whether the price of admission is worth it for Hand of Glory from Holy Mountain?
Is it the fest? Venue? Quality of firkins? Me? I went once and just didn’t like being shut up in a room full of farts. I can do that at home. I have noticed a distinct drip off in quantity and quality of firkins at GTMW, and it used to be my favorite bit. Best firkins last year came from Bells.I remember when D/NotLA used to sell out right quick.
I don't even remember non-members really having a chance at AM/1st Session tickets.
How things have changed.
what happened to the line-up...wheres pipeworks, off color, forbidden root (really..randy..realy?!?!), 5 rabbit (ahem) , haymarket, corridor, dryhop, cruz blanca, begyle, dovetail....like 75% of chicago breweries MIA. but middle brow, hopvine, mickey finn, prairie street, tighthead and finch in full effect. brought a NEIPA/dry-hop brett beer blend, should be above average, maybe we win an award this year by virtue of being the tallest little person.I remember when D/NotLA used to sell out right quick.

that one has fallen off the radar for most.... #newmoney ain’t got time for that....I remember when D/NotLA used to sell out right quick.

I bought tickets awhile ago and forgot I had. So I guess I'll see you there.Yea, was surprised to see CBS offering the buy 3 get 4 tickets discount for Saturday evening.
Looking forward to trying the middlebrow one, and intrigued to see how Imperial Oak's turned out (Brett Beliner Weiss that used fruit concentrate to carbonate, hoping the calculations worked out as expected). I'm sure I'll likely end up drinking mostly Metropolitan like I normally do at this event after I've sampled the ones I want to try.
Anyone else making it out to the evening session?
I’m not surprised but I’m also weirded out that Goose now has a (new)Clybourn clone in Philly.
Checked out Soundgrowler Brewing in Tinley Park last night with pasta and lurchingbeast (before going to Hailstorm > Tribes > some divebar that served everything in plastic cups with some truly awe inspiring awful karaoke)

Beers were kind of all over the board with the pale ale being really good, the Vienna lager being pretty mediocre and the American barleywine being pretty terrible (the amount of crystal 120 that was used to make that beer could have been spread around 3 or 4 batches...)

What I tried of the food was pretty good, especially the salsas they were serving. They were out of Elote at around 6:30 on a Friday which I found odd.

Place had an interesting vibe in that they only played sludge / doom metal reminiscent of the old days at Three Floyds. Beers were average, food was above average and makes a nice addition to the area. I'm not in any hurry to go back, but if I was in the area I'd stop by to see what they were pouring.
another birthday party for thewimperoo another year opening a blue lady... batch 31 pipeworks still blue cheese the hit of the party...
Are you any more or less surprised they opened one in Korea as well?
Was kind of sad that Night of the Living Ales wasn't sold out this evening, but as always a great event.
Lots of very good beers including a very tasty middlebrow NE IPA / Bret blend (that jeblikesbeer and myself argued about), Temperance Beer Co. Barrel Aged Might Makes Right La Sopresa, Half Acre Daisy Capra, and Goose Island Red Ale (which won the cellarmens award) among others.
I only poured out two beers the whole event (a terrible infused Domaine Du Page and a really bad barrel aged Tripel), and tried lots of good stuff aside from what is mentioned above.
Imperial Oak Brewing won the under 6% award with the below beer

Was a fun event as always, but I'm concerned that the session I attended wasn't more populated. It would be a shame if the event wasn't deemed financially viable.
Well I was just thinking, DOLA/NOLA is still a 2-session fest. Lots of great successful fests are only one session.Would have to say less because I understand AB InBev pushing a “now global” craft brewer to areas where the craze hasn’t hit its peak. Admittedly, I also know nothing about craft beer in Korea.
Could this be that the festival “palate” is fatigued a bit? I say this knowing that Stoutfest will sell out in seconds because rare pastry stouts rustle everyone’s jimmies and most people don’t know or appreciate cask ales.
