One buzzword: Omni-channel.

Consumers, beer or otherwise, are looking for that Omni-Channel experience in interact with a brewery. This includes physical locations, social media, events, etc. Customers value the ability to be in constant contact with a company through multiple avenues at the same time. It's how retail in almost every space is trending, but beer is such a gleaming example of this. Beer drinkers are passionate people, who may not necessarily be exclusive to one brand/brewery, but love to be a part of lots of brewery's omni-channel experiences.

So having a tap room is more important than a tap handle at a beer bar. This allows a brewery to give that brand's cultivated experience, and consumers value the experience more than just the liquid in the glass.

Beer bars do hold an important place and I don't think they're going anywhere. But I think there's just more of a shift for consumers to consume the experience rather than just the liquid.

This is a great post, spot on too.

I like that he already drank all his Cafe Deth cans.

I honestly haven't had so many BA beers in such a short time in my entire life. Every night is like

"Self, do I want an enormous BA stout?"
"Umm, Self, you absolutely do."
"But won't we be committing to an evening of uncomfortable fullness? Won't others look at our behavior aghast at our alcoholism?"
*single serving can magically appears as angels sing*

I don't even know why the can makes it feel more accessible. It's not like I haven't had access to 12 oz bottles of BA stouts. I think there's some kind of psychological witchcraft working here.

Cleaning out all the beer in my wine fridge, if anyone is interested in these (all of them) shoot me a DM. I'll gladly accept any bottle of natty/raw wine, a single bottle of Iris (why the hell not?), a bottle Buffalo Trace or 1 bottle of Evan Willams White Label plus 6-pk of High Life/12-pk Topo-Chico...

Beer Temple is wallet kryptonite.

Helped my niece move her new bed up 2 flights in the city today - headed by BT on the way home, to see if they had the sparkling cherry wine (thought my inlaws might like the novelty).

Left with no cherry wine, no Boon discovery pack, no (fill in the blank)....but with $120 worth of Scratch.

The Iowa brewed Sue cans that just dropped are really damn good. King Sue fresh bombers ain’t bad either.

I didn't realize King Sue had arrived. Tempted to violate my no bomber policy on hops. Hmm.

The Pseudo Sue was so tasty that it makes anything much over $10 for same volume much less attractive. Saw some new Transient stuff dropped too, but looks like $18+. Ugh.
