"dubbed the best beer the world (and underworld) has ever seen, is a 9.1% alcohol by volume (ABV) barrel aged barleywine that received bronze in its category at the 2006 Great American Beer Festival."

2006 is pretty much paleolithic era in craft beer terms, right?
Especially strange because ITS NOT THE SAME BEER.

here's a fun tidbit from how brewery/distillery acquisitions are ******...had a friend at high west who asked if we wanted a barrel last year, asked him today...ummm, dude, we cant sell/give them to anyone since the constellation buyout.

That’s why Lagunitas isn’t making High Westified as well.

This Friday's Deep Wood Series release party will focus on the barrel. In addition to 2017 VSOD & Ryeway to Heaven, we're extremely excited to be pouring the following draft-only releases:

SINGLE BARREL VSOD - WOODFORD RESERVE / 13.5% ABV - Our classic barrel, the one to which all others are compared, has a wonderful balance of oak & spirit with a smooth finish.

SINGLE BARREL VSOD - OLD FORESTER / 13.8% ABV - This barrel leans towards spirit, but has enough oak presence to keep it from being overly strong.

SINGLE BARREL VSOD - WOODFORD RYE / 14.0% ABV - Rye whiskey provides a spicier flavor than sweeter corn-based bourbons. This barrel has a rich oak profile which pairs beautifully with a perceived dryness from the spirit.

RESERVE BARREL VSOD / 13.0% ABV - At the end of each barrel filling day we wind up with one barrel that isn't quite full. Topped-off with Straight Jacket, this barrel is smooth & sweet with a delicate chocolate flavor & aroma.

NITRO RYEWAY TO HEAVEN / 13.0% ABV - A classic preparation of our beloved Ryewine, this one-of-a-kind keg is uber full-bodied, complex, and smoother than Han Solo at a Hall & Oates concert.

Deth's Tar, Café Deth, Rev Pils, Fist City, and Fistmas will also be on tap.

beeraficionado will there be similar amounts of these variants as the 'normal' deth variants were or are these sixtels that i should arrive very early for? really pumped for some VSOD

Anyone jones’ing for a 4oz glass of CBS? LP Binnys has you covered - for $8 (+tax).

Damn! I'll head over there in about 15 minutes...
That must be a good price, that Binnys is where everyone lines up for BCBS, so they're a great place for beer obviously...

Out here in Sacramento, I was gettin 8oz pour for $7 all this weekend. I guess I'm paying for the shipping and such.

Wait...4oz for 8$ is better than 8oz for 7$ right? I'm really bad at math so forgive me

Express the value in cost-of-a-DUI units to make it easier.

I think I wrecked my palate on Friday at Coalfire followed by Cruz Blanca. Because when I opened a cafe deth nightcap, it was all alcohol and a different coffee flavor (maybe closer to last year's, though I know some of you savages prefer that). Tried to get back to it last night along with a BCBCS 17, and again just wasn't what I was used to with the first several 4 packs I had already finished, which is sad on multiple levels.

Anyone ever had their palate turn on a dime for a particular beer? Maybe drinking it too often if that is even possible.

Im bad at reading sometimes too...Not sure if youre thinking about driving across the country to here. But that brew is no longer on tap at that bar.
Speaking of DUI, I dont have a license yea, by the law/doctor. **** EPILEPSY!! (its nice to have a prominent politician as yer pops though so when you DO total yer car in Chicago and rip the entire front wheel assembly off though after BCBS marathon, you dont even get a ticket or even talk to an officer #bragging)

We have 1 Half Barrel of each single barrel origin VSOD, which means it should last a couple of hours, with certain ones lasting longer probably. The ones that used to blow in 45 minutes last year were sixtels...and vanilla.
