While I think their club is silly, all the beers I've had from them have been decent to good. That said, I never even bother looking at their bottles at stores. All the labels look the same so at a glance its hard to even tell what beers they are. The names are ridiculous, hard to remember, and an odd juxtaposition to their metal brewery art. And why the hell are they still only selling bombers? It's like they saw Pipeworks' success with the all bomber model, tried to mimic it, couldn't get demand up and liquidated their unsold beer to Target to put on the clearance end cap. I just don't get it. Until they sell 4/6 packs I see no reason to buy their beer.

But have you had the one they dumped a fuckton of hops into?

i've only ever had a couple of their beers.. we don't have them on shelves up here. been happy with the ones i've drank.

i once said that bottle art makes a difference for me when trying new beers. glad i'm not the only one.

Used printjets are around $5-6k, depending.

And thanks for that :) I don't really wanna distribute to IL right now because that market is more bloated that Scott Weiland. I think we're gunna open the southern part of the state Q1 2016 so all the FIBs can come up to Woodman's in Kenosha, buy my beer, and complain it's not barrel aged.

vav - what do those printjet doohickey's cost, I can't imagine they're cheap?

and as an aside while ya'll FIB's drink haterade about local brewers, just north of the border (I consider munster to madison part of the FIB empire) that dude that used to work at binnys made (or was involved in making) two of my favorite beers of the year. granted I love milds, but the vanilla (did someone say blah blah blah) & sumatra cold brew coffee milds are so smooth and lovely. I think if they were here, they'd offset my weekly off color purchases. Now get those SOB's distributed to chicago. so next time in the great north at new glarus, funk factory or whatever spend 8 bucks on some 3rd Sign 4-packs, you wont be disappointed.

they look like this....

Bloated market..... If I didn't know any better I'd think you were once the crypt keeper at the leading Chicago bottle graveyard.

Someone who recently purchased one told me it was a $15,000 add-on to their line.

That sounds about right...maybe a little steep/high end. I'm not in the beer industry, but am in food and I have trialed a few different versions before. The more basic models are around 10k and you can get used ones for less than 5k.

Edit: Oops, looks like I was beaten to the punch.

As of 3:45pm, the Whole Foods on Lincoln/Ashland/School has about 5 cases of regular BCBS (@9.99), 3 cases of Barleywine (@12.99), and about 6 bottles of Coffee. They also have regular Darkness...maybe a case or two.

The beer was fresh when I ran it.

Edit: I should add an emoticon to show I'm being jocular.

For those of you who aren't in the Burger Concoctions thread / don't follow Burger Antics on FB

A rep from AleSmith's distributor will also be here during the aforementioned times handing out Coasters, Sniters, and other Swag!

Don't miss this chance to try a bunch of great beers from one of the newest and best breweries to hit the Chicagoland market! See you Thursday!

I'd personally go to harass dvelcich and I'll be bringing a Barrel Aged Speedway to share around 7pmish.

Cheers!

BIG thanks for this. Didn't chase BCS and was able to grab some regular and try BW for the first time (meh) thanks to your heads-up. Much appreciated!

SAISON **** - any idea where clybourn's at on gift count? (before the snarky peanut gallery chimes in, I already gave 50 bucks worth of gifts, and am sitting on another)

Sounds like Binnys on Clark got some additional BCBS. Limit 4 reg, 1 coffee, 1 regal and some barleywine

I'm the guy who sent my lady to get me a few bottles since I was not in Chicago on Thanksgiving and did not chase a single bottle. (she's a keeper).

She chatted up the beer manager and apparently this was the shipment that was sent to Georgia that they could not sell due to their 13% ABV cap.

AM I THE ONLY ONE SITTING OUT HERE IN THE SUBURBS SAYING **** THIS.....

So disproportionate from LP binnys to any other location.
My binnys got 12 bottles of rare, LP got over one thousand.... BUT OK GOOSE ISLAND LETS GIVE LP BINNYS ANOTHER ******* WAVE OF RARE AND STICK THE SUBURB SCHLUBS WITH REG AND BWINE LOL GR8 TROLL M8's I RATE THIS AN EIGHT OUT OF EIGHT

I was busy the week after Thanksgiving with house stuff so I couldn't hunt. It would be nice to stumble upon a couple more bottles of regular in a suburban shop. I realize how unlikely that is with the distribution plan.
