My first Zwanze Day. Things I learned:

-The beer community is always generous
-Friends make the event great, not the beer
-Never leave early
-Powz87 is a Hanes man
-Kristina did an amazing job along with all the cooks and pourers
-Fresh Kriek is way better than I remembered

I may or may not have met anyone new. I don't really remember. Things were going well until Laffler showed up, but that is how it usually works. Drank so much Whiskers and BA Dino Smores. Blacked out on the Addison bus, but stumbled my way home.

Echo what everyone else said. Great people, great food, great atmosphere, great drunk Dunt, great beer. Cantillons were stellar as usual, even if the Iris Grand Cru was undercarbed. The Viggy was ON POINT. I could drink that by the gallon. The sleeper/surprise hits for me was the unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell and Salty Angel, the Italian Gose. Damn that was a crushable beer.

I thought the Iris was the worst beer of the day. I don't have much experience with it so I can't say exactly what as wrong but I thought is was undrinkable.

Could be right, it was basically "still". Last year on tap it had carb so maybe that's where my comparison came from.

Zwanze Day kicked ass this year. Food was awesome, taps were solid, bottle share was great, weather was beautiful, wasted Dunt was achieved. I hope it stays that same exact way every year, the backyard is the way to go.
