I'll also be rolling solo. Will have a bright yellow Half Acre shirt on. Standing around awkwardly. Someone be my friend. Bringing some Clara and 3F Geuze.

Made selections for tomorrow. Not thrilled about the time I need to be awake and on a train, but that is the price I pay for otherwise comfortable suburban living.

Any survivors to give a report?
Was very nice. The only time I felt overcrowded was when the food line opened up. We had the table right next to the buffet, and it ended up being a one way in and out right past my table. Otherwise it was plenty of space, plenty of good food. Awesome time. Awesome folks. Awesome pours Could have done without oreo opening a bottle of Malört.

Was it held completely in WLV's backyard? No bar across the street?

Despite a number of obnoxious types, it was a fantastic first Zwanze day.
It never got too crowded, taps lasted long enough that it was never a rush to get a pour, food forever (I ate pounds and pounds of sausage and pretzels), and the bottles they opened were a great treat (thrilled to get a taste of Soleil de Minuit, despite how mediocre it was).

But by far the best part of the day was having a conversation with fear025 about R Kelly pissing on people... good times.

Hopefully they keep the same setup next year. Only thing I would change would be to give the food buffet a little more room from the tables.

And the next year-round six-pack from Revolution is... their new/re-formulated Pilsner. No can/label art yet but that's what I heard at the tap room earlier.

I don't disagree - hard to see the need for another craft Pilsner. Maybe it came down to to cost/scalability? The new Pils is much more easy drinking than Mother of Exiles - not sure that's good or bad. It's also possible that Cross of Gold just doesn't sell - I have to hope that they're relying on their own internal sales figures.

Gravedigger Billy got changed this year, too - a huge increase in smoked malt. Not sure that's a good thing but smoked beers generally make me vomit.

It was a great day at WLV. My first Zwanze. Perfect amount of people. Nothing was overly crowded. Only feedback would be maybe have one more portapotty. Food was plentiful and delicious. Lots of interesting beer. Cantillon Kriek kegged two weeks ago was probably the highlight of the entire day. Vigneronne was excellent as well. Got the babiest of pours of Soleil de Minuit and '14 Framboos. 2010 Oro de Calabaza was also really nice. Drank a ton of unpasteurized Pilsner Urquell. They didn't sell any bottles this year and were just popping them open once the Cantillon kegs ran out which I thought was awesome. Chatted with Hopping Tiger.

Ruined my body by going to 312 Block Party and drinking BCS variants for another 3 hours.

I had a wedding in Door County this weekend and am sad I missed Zwanze this year but I am really glad to hear they didn't sell bottles. That was such an unnecessary shitshow and had grown ass men acting like children last year.

and every year before that... I like the idea of no sales as well...
