The @FirestoneWalker Parabola is here. 1 per customer. no holds. if you flip out over not getting one I'll have to start a wall of shame.

@GrandAveBeer Weird.... that beer doesn't go on sale till the 23rd.......

Hahaha...I remember a few years back when Laffler was showing the wife and I around Goose Fulton, he switches lines on the brew deck to Coffee BCS (it's the Tuesday before Black Friday). I ask if this is the one that I had just bought at a store near our place and he goes, "You bought this? It's not supposed to be on sale yet!".

Aaaaand it's gone. I got one from the last case, but almost had to forfeit it because I left my ID at a pharmacy counter in Lakeview. Luckily my ever-whitening beard & hair vouched for my age.

Can we get a C&D on mediocre breweries coming here to turd up our shelves? Please?

I actually drank a ton of Back in Black out of the can when I was out there. Watermelon is an OK Summer beer too.

Rest is extemely ehhhhhhhh.

If anyone happens to be in the Downers Grove area this evening and wants to grab a beer, I'll be at Cellar Door around 6:30 to watch some NCAAM and enjoy some beers from 5 Rabbit including Arroz con Leche, 5 Rabbit Golden Ale, Fabulosa Porter and 5 Vulture VSOP Paul Masson Barrel Aged with Added Mulatto Peppers (taproom exclusive).

Goose Island - Clybourn is adding a new layer to its MBA program. Now, you can become an MBA Fellow!

Show your MBA card to your server or bartender to get your Fellowship booklet. (Don't have an MBA card? Yeah, we missed a few of you. Email [email protected]and we'll take care of you!)

Then get to work drinking 25 different pub beers! Those are the ones we make on site, and there's a new one every Thursday! We usually have about 20 on tap at any given time so your odds are pretty good of finishing it quickly!

After those 25 beers, your first howler ($4) and fill (up to $10) is complimentary, and you'll also receive your official MBA Fellowship card.

In order to purchase beers available only to you, MBA Fellows, you MUST show your card so don't lose it! Here's the current list, which is always subject to availability, but we'll keep you updated every couple of weeks with what we've got:

Aviator - Doppelbock
Theater of Life - Barleywine
Wheatmiser - Wheatwine
Biere de Garde
Dark Crusader - Imperial Stout
Sofie - Oak Aged Belgian Farmhouse Ale
Matilda - Belgian Pale Ale
Muddy - Imperial Stout
Virtue Cider

MBA Fellowships expire about 13 months after you can start earning them. In other words, you can start earning your MBA Fellowship on January 1 and your prior year's membership won't expire until January 31. That one month overlap hopefully reduces any gaps in your membership! For this year, since we're starting a bit later, enrollment starts today and memberships expire April 30, 2016.

Now, if I've done the legwork to become a "Fellow", I don't see myself enjoying the privilege of being the only person in the brewpub who can order a Sofie. Also, The Muddy? Sounds more like a punishment.

Not something to get excited over. It's just a solid refreshing brew for hot weather.

man I'm glad 21'st is coming, I was just thinking I didnt have enough access to IPA's in chicago

im much excite for the watermelon beer its refreshing and nice for when chicago makes it to the sweltering 90+ with 100% humidity i draft much of it last summer in mn.

I don't even see the point, you've always been able to order any and every beer on tap prior to this. Why change? I'd rather have an option to buy bottled stuff first or a free new release beer like Rev does. And what the hell happened to the annual MBA Only Party?!

I don't always drink Pipeworks, but when I do I drink THEFUZZZZZ. Good schtuff. A little more refreshing than usual too.

PS Mint Lemon Wheat sounds pretty good.

God I hope that makes it til tomorrow afternoon
Not to jinx anything, but it's a DONG and a barleywine, at that, so it should last a while. Last week's version - Institutionalized with coconut - lasted until through Sunday.
Is this at the Brewpub or Taproom? Thinking about making a Chicago trip on Saturday while the wife is at a birthday party.
Ahem: http://www.talkbeer.com/community/threads/fib-war-room.1419/page-371#post-583897 . Also, go early on Saturday - while it's not always the case (such as last Saturday, St. Patrick's celebrations be damned) - it is more likely to be a madhouse.

Also, and with all due respect, I feel like he may be missing the point here:

Hahahahahah that tweet goes against everything I heard him say about putting all of those loons out on the lowdown.

Must be too popular now...gotta start pushing back against it, right?

Unable to articulate why I feel this picture is an appropriate response:

I never thought that in 3 short months, New Money would elevate to the level where Vav would irrationally comment on it.

So proud.

DDB opened the floodgates, now every cookie-cutter beer blogger and "journalist" that goes to his site to figure out cutting-edge content is using or writing about it. Plus you've got all these idiots on CCBE trying to use it ironically by referring to themselves as #newmoney before someone else does.
