FFF and fruit don't mix.

Chevalier Bertrand du Guessesesseclin might be the only exception. That wasn't bad. Not $25 good either though.

Cabra drank pretty good. Cabrito was also not bad.

Samesies with Cherry Behemoth (well, tap batches past 2009-10ish I remember well.. I'm not sure on the recent bottling(s) or whatever)

But yeah, that's a good rule of thumb.

Can we put a fedora on him?

Got asked about it 3 damn times tonight at Christmas with my wife's family. "Hey you like beer, have you had tgat Dads Root Beer beer." If you think it's hard to get in most places, Morris Jewel doesn't sell liquor. I heard all about it.

That's right. The real problem isn't ******** racing after each and every bottle - it's the guy driving the truck.

My favorite part is when the dude didn't even go to get the bottles himself BUT SENT HIS FRIEND. "So my mule was telling me that..."

Wow.. did I read that right?

Yeah.. it's the drivers fault you couldn't get a whole case and pay minimum dollar for it..

To be honest with you, I'd definitely be one of the people that overpriced these so at least I could keep it around for awhile / people that really want it could get it.

If a simple markup like that really bothers you.. maybe you shouldn't be going after these beers.. I might be unique in that thinking.. but it'd be nice to be able to buy 2-3 bottles of a variant a year at a bar over time whenever I want instead of them selling out immediately.. I'd pay for that privilege.

Huge like for this. Would love higher privet and more distribution to bars. That's really all that I can see taking care of this crap. I'm sure they may be out there, but I can't think of any other luxury/hobby item where the prices are intentionally kept well below potential market price.

******* truck drivers cutting into his secondary market profits.

Stories not exactly like this but along similar lines are becoming all too frequent. This beer thing when I started years ago was all about fun, friends, sharing beer, so many laughs and just an escape from day to day life stresses. That is and always will be what it is for me. Period. Not to bring up that other site but let's face it, that is the site that most of us used to spring board our obsession of beer and honestly the advocate part of beer advocate is almost totally lost. If I score extra limited releases…yes I keep some for myself but I also gift/send some if not more. I guess I live in a fantasy world because unfortunately it's the greedy, money hungry ******** who ruin it for everyone but it sure would be nice to get back to the good 'ol times of good beer, good friends, good times…this beer thing shouldn't be stressful. I know I'm naive. Anyway, Merry Christmas and I hope you all get to relax and share a nice beer with family and friends!

I just try to surround myself with cool doods and let all the ******** happen outside of my area of impact. Managed to meet/befriend a ton of awesome people over the last 5-6 years, and they are still out there (awesome newcomers), just a little harder to find these days with all of this **** going on.

Of course I still have to make some sort of sarcastic remark because that's what sustains me, but I really could give two ***** what these idiots are doing. If that's what makes 'em happy more power to 'em.

**aside** I still have yet to hoist a pint/tulip/sniffy/Kwak glass with you. Dumb.

Well said and ultimately I ignore the noise and stupidity out there but it is becoming more noticeable. I'll just continue to do my thing regardless.

Yes we do need to swap suds/touch tips sometime soon.

People are so dense sometimes. Don't buy the ******* beer then. Problem solved. Period. End. Fin.

So that's why we don't hang anymore :( :(

You can be assured they will pay for it and then continue to bitch about it. Entitlement after all.
Let me share a story for juxtaposition. About a week ago I found myself in a little bodega in the city that had a whole case of BCBS. Upon closer inspection it was actually 2013 BCBS. I thought "cool, no price tag. I wonder how much it is," so I asked the clerk.
She said "$40."
I said "what?!, no thanks." And walked out.

Sometimes people forget that it's just beer.

As a side antidote: I told this story to a friend, he went to the store to buy a 4pack. Told the lady he'd pay $35.
She said $40
He said $35
She said $37
He said $35
She said $36
He walked out the door with a $36 4pack.
