I was speaking in terms of JEG talking **** about me to theeabyss, not everything else. That's hilarious to me. I haven't chimed in once on the other matter because I don't give a ****.

Yeah, I understand that. I shouldn't have used your quote, but it just seemed perfect.

There are 100s of ***** out there. Constantly harping on JEG (or fedora, or whoever) is just tired. Public shaming isn't changing behavior, maybe a different approach is necessary (or futile).

maybe a different approach is necessary
I say we invent a CL beer selling vigilante. Taking revenge on people that are selling beer on CL for such huge profits. Maybe he just swoops in and breaks all the bottles a person is trying to sell before money exchanges hands. YEAH THAT WILL CHANGE BEHAVIOR!!!

not srs.

Or am I?!??!!

That may work, but I think someone already mentioned the real answer. Riot and loot. That's how we get **** done.

In case you are out in my neck of the woods, Buckledown Brewing in Lyons, IL is having its 1st anniversary party today and tomorrow.

We’re 1. Help us celebrate the end of our rookie year December 5th and 6th.

December 5th:
• Live Music from Pale Horse on Dec 5th at 8pm.
• Food Truck from Jack's Fork in the Road
• Release of our new barrel-aged beers

December 6th:
• Live Music from local singer/songwriting phenom, Josie Dunne, at 8pm.
• Food Truck from Windy City Patty Wagon

...
We will also be releasing 3 new barrel-aged beers:

Irresponsible
Our Greenbush Brewing Collaboration Imperial Red Rye, Reprehensible, aged in Mississippi River Rye Barrels for 6 months

Nefarious Aftermath
Shady Aftermath Robust Porter aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrels, Belle Meade Bourbon Barrels, and Mississippi River Rye Barrels for 9 months then blended.

Shadowbox
Stompbox American Stout aged in Woodford Reserve Bourbon Barrels for 9 months

Shadowbox and Nefarious Aftermath will also be available in 22oz bottles starting on Dec. 5th (max. 2 per customer/day due to the very limited supply)

Barrel raffle
Our used oak barrels are being raffled off. 4 individual winners will receive 1 random oak barrel (no choosies). $5 per ticket, and they’re on sale now in the tap room. Drawing at 8pm Sat. Dec 6th. *Winner must be present to receive prize.

Haven't tried the barrel aged beers, but only came out to $22 for the pair (and it's a little confusing in the wording, but its a limit of 1 per each beer for a total of 2 bottles).

All of this is quite petty and not hilarious.

Who gives a ****? If he didn't buy it, someone else would have (as long as he isn't the one that actually knowingly talked the employee into selling it early). Perpetuating the ****-talking and using him as a scapegoat isn't helping the degrading scene that everyone complains about so much.

I really don't know what's worse; the middle school girl - cool table - **** talking or the actual behavior of truck chasers/hoarders (or my grammar).
Gross has earned 100% of the **** he gets regardless of his his guilt in any specific instance.

Confirmed in our tasting on Black Friday while we sipped on the batch they were releasing. Is good.
Definitely good. Will buy as long as it's not released at 11am on a Tuesday or something dumb.

I'll add my two cents on the JEG drama (tl;dr = Walgreens is least of the problems)

I was in line near him at Jewel on Black Friday. I knew nothing about Walgreens story at the time, so it kind of just amplifies my reaction to everything that took place:

He listened to me ask a store clerk where the line was, and then as I began walking, he told the clerk "I need to follow this guy". When I slowed briefly to ask those at the end nearest us whether it was the front or back (it was front), he speedwalked the last 10 meters to get by me and ahead in line. I only saw who it was after as I really couldn't believe what just took place. Mind you this was 3 hours ahead of release time. 25 people there maybe.

He complained loudly many times to everyone and no one about how terrible of a day it had been, so much hunting effort for such a small haul. I suppose that, comparatively, indeed it had been a terrible day.

He contemplated going to buy an overpriced Stagg he got a tip on, and when someone asked why at that price, "I'll just flip it".

He argued loudly with the GI rep concerning the decrease in allotment due to an error by Jewel people. He badgered her with legal terms (as I noted previously). He then argued further with another GI and Jewel rep inside about why only Chicago is getting shafted with the limits, and that people around the country can walk out with a huge haul.

There were other things, but I fear I would reach a character max.

Now, I don't fault someone for scoring cases on a hot tip if that's all it was. But the rest of this, as crazy of a display as it was at the time, is just mind boggling to me now given that he had/has one of the largest hauls of variants in the country, let alone Chicago. And beyond that, the general theatrics in line / out in public were just painful for those nearby. I'm sure we've been at some of the same events, but I've never been near the guy until now and only had BA/TB urban legend to go on. Nothing I've heard (true or not) would surprise me after this. If he has any interest rehabbing his rep, forget about walgreens and start with the other 99% of things like this that seemingly take place constantly.

I nearly cussed him out when he started doing that. Rachael had been dealing with shitheads all day and didnt need him being a prick....

Yeah been hoping to find that again for awhile. Had it during bachelor party stop at northdown a few summers back and was sublime.

They haven't released it since 2012 I don't think. I haven't seen it when I'm back home in KY and I haven't seen it on tap since Local Option's CCBW event that year.

god damn do i hate bottom feeder fuckbag lawyers who make all of us look bad. anyone who tries to scam their way into more beer from a grocery store by using legal terms should be thrown into the ******* lake.

p.s. lurchingbeast is right. i'd rather almost anyone else have those four prop. i'd give them to resident villain joel66 before JEG. at least joel66 doesn't go into sanctimonious 10 paragraph rants about how he's just an ordinary guy who happened to get some prop tee hee, he acknowledges he flips beer and whiskey in order to pay for his own consumption. like it or not, he's way more honest and has way more ******* integrity than JEG. i can't wait for the loweball hayden-y trade offers to come from this ****.

You would have never known it from (a) his audible complaining heard down the street re: how unproductive the hunting was today and (b) getting into a legal argument with the GI rep at the front over the expectation interest of those in line given what was mentioned initially about allocations.

Snippet:

GI rep: "That (the allocation) was never written down anywhere"

Anon - "IT CAN BE ORAL"

this makes me weep
