Don't they usually add the other alternating hour time slots a few days later? I seem to remember it being that way the past few years.

It's showing all the time slots on the event page now. They only added more time slots the first year after everyone cried and the demand was so high.

MBA Members,
Your pre-sale tickets for BLACK FRIDAY go on sale tomorrow at 9:00 am. We've set aside tickets for you and a guest to join us in one of our favorite traditions at Goose Island Clybourn.

Akin to last year, this year's event will feature a ticketed Black Friday package where a Goose Island brewer will lead you through a tasting of these barrel-aged beers:

-Bourbon County Brand Stout '14
-Bourbon County Brand Barleywine '14
-Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout '14
-Bourbon County Brand Vanilla '14
-Proprietor's Bourbon County Brand Stout (panela sugar that's made into a syrup with coconut water, Cassia bark, and cocoa nibs).
Plus, attendees will take home a bomber of 2014 BCBS Proprietor's and a new edition of our Bourbon County Brand Stout snifter.
Anyone else notice there's no price listed in this message?

75 bucks like usual.

i went to the first edition (with rare, etc.) but this year's and last year's are just stupid. assume 20 bucks for the bomber and 10 for the glass, you're paying 45 bucks for what is likely to be six 4 oz pours. if i'm mistaken about the pour sizes from last year, let me know...

That's about right.

Here is how I'd breakdown the costs

$20 for the bomber
$15 for the glassware (almost positive they were $15 last year in the pub)
$10 for the dessert pairings
$30 for the x5 - 4-5oz pours

Is it a screaming deal? Absolutely not, but I enjoy spending my Black Friday in a haze of bourbon county with friends and other like minded folks and not worrying about hunting down a bunch of additional bottles.

Now that I think about it, they also had Templeton Rye BCBS last year. So same price as last year with one less taster and a bottle hitting distro instead of the '09 bomber.

If anyone in the chicago area is interested I'm working on getting together 8 or so people for a bottle share in Palatine on Dec 13th. We're all bringing a bottle or two of our best to share. Everyone will get to OK the final list before it is decided. Nothing crazy like DQ or Loerik but some of the things people are offering up include V13, Brandy Darklord, Wineification, etc.

Please sign up on the form below if you're interested!

Think I'd rather have a fresh Prop than 09 anyway.

I'm sure people would. What I was driving at was price. Same price but one less taster than last year and a bottle that they are releasing that day all over the city vs a bottle they've held onto for four years. ****, they've sold year old Big John for $20 in the past. I don't think the price is outrageous or anything as compared to last year. Just an observation.

Oh, I see how it is. Leave your old Goons and find new friends...

Has anyone seen any new Tomes anywhere? Shelton is supposed to be back but so far I haven't seen anything. Do I just have no clue what I am doing?

I've been looking as well.

Don't carry Fantome anymore at Binny's LP. Apparently there were too many quality control issues to deal with. Not sure about other Binny's, but they may have the same issue with it.

West lakeview liquors had BonsBons and Pissenlit on the shelf last time I was there. They usually get Shelton orders a few times a year, so it may be awhile before more show up.

In for 10am Black Friday.

Lawlz. How dumb. I don't see why that would even matter as it is not a store's fault.
Step 1: Dude buys beer.
Step 2: Beer is infected/bad/whatever
Step 3: Dude calls store and wants refund.
Step 4: Dude gets refund because no store is going to argue product QA issues with a customer.

I wouldn't carry a product that has a high percentage of bad bottles either.

Get your entries in next Friday for the chance to be one of the 500 to buy a 22 oz bottle of a $120 black truffle pilsner from Moody Tongue. You'll also be on the list for future purchases. Remember #whalezbroz! I try not to be a dick, but this is just ridiculous on every sort of level. I wonder how many chefs want to choke this guy for wasting all those truffles.

I feel like I'd rather head over to Beer Temple that day for a bottle of Abraxas, but I'm probably just a simpleton. My tongue must not be moody enough.
