love to tailgate there before games... :(

Although could be similar posturing to what was going on with Clybourn earlier in the year?

Ehh... Doubt it. Clybuorn had way more leverage because any entity moving into that space after they left would not be able to obtain a liquor license due to its proximity to a day care center. Basically, the place is grandfathered in. The landlord in Wrigley could find plenty of willing participants to plunk down serious money to open a bar there.

Does anyone else find this a weird replacement for a Howler?

Say hello to the Crowler. This mouthful of an invention makes its Chicago debut at Dryhop. The 32-oz. can is filled and sealed to order with any beer on draft. It replaces Dryhop’s 34-oz. howler, a smaller version of the traditional 64-oz. growler. The difference between the aluminum can and the glass growlers is three-fold, according to the Chicago Tribune. First, it's more effective in blocking light, “public enemy No. 1 for beer.” Second, the beer keeps longer because the can doesn’t need to be cleaned and, therefore, is less likely to pass contaminants to the beer. Finally, it's easier to transport. Growlers and Crowlers are easy ways for small breweries like Dryhop, which do not distribute beer via retail, to reach customers at home. They'll cost between $6 and $8. One downside: unlike the growler, the Crowler is not reusable, although it is recyclable.

This week's work related whirlwind tour of Illinois brings me to Two Brother's Roundhouse tonight.

Cool as ****...that is all.

Staying next door at Comfort Inn...can get poo-pooed and stumble back to room. So much win.

Sixers of Yum Yum are hitting the market. Bought one since it's not every day you see a new six-pack from FFF. Thought the label was great but the beer was...

Meh Meh

It just tasted dull and flat. Not in terms of carbonation but flavor. Doubt I'll be buying any more of it. I wonder if they dropped P&J because its hop bill is so close to Alpha King (I think - I don't really know for sure but they both scream of Amarillo to me) whereas Yum Yum uses some other hop entirely. They can better concentrate on Alpha King which likely makes them more money (and sells better).

This year's Heyoka is amaze-balls. They just canned it today - this is the first time I've had a beer on the day it was packaged. Also the new Anicca label is streets ahead of anything else I've seen lately.

i actually get a lot of diacetyl in mine as it warms up. it was alright when cold, but i am not liking this.

Revolution's Unsessionable is ******* tasty. Bright citrus upfront and nicely bitter finish -- this is what a 10% DIPA should taste like (*cough*Pipeworks*cough*). I'm going to regret the third glass in the morning. Cans are due in 2-4 weeks.

Mid-post update - I am already regretting this third Unsessionable. Tomorrow morning is going to suck.

Further update - I regret nothing.

Has anyone else been down to Vice District yet? It's two blocks from my house. I thought their porter and black IPA were both solid, and the session IPA was interesting. Not bad at all for a new brewery.
