great release. red wine betise (oud bruin) and wayward (brett pale) were highlights.

Agreed. Also thought the Henry porter was fantastic, and the honey saison was good as well.

On another note, hit up Imperial Oak on the way home and was really impressed. Tried a bunch of samples, and everything was good to great. Excited by the number of quality places popping up lately. Wish more of them were closer to home!!

Did anyone get a chance to try the citrus saison at Transient? It hadn't been tapped as of about 1:30 when sleuthdog and I left.

Was that the Obelus Moteuka? Didn't try it today but had it at a fest a few weeks ago and thought it was solid. If I had to rank, I would put it above the chardonnay obelus but below wayward, realizing wayward is a different style.

Edit: how was the raspberry berliner? That was the one I was looking forward to that didn't tap before we left.

Not sure of the name. All I saw were the words "citrus saison" peeking out from under the taped paper.

**** the Bears. I should have gone to this instead.

Anyone know what the pickup availability is now? Can I just go to OTP anytime to get my bottles?

Pretty sure you were suppose to email Chris already
When he announced, I asked if bottles would be available to pick up at later dates, and he said yes. Just wondering if anyone knows if that means anytime or I have to schedule.

Which have you tried so far? Interested in hearing how the red wine treatments are

Tried Peur and Red Wine Obelus, both were very good. I would buy more of either of them. Haven't tried the bottle of red wine betise but thought it was great on tap.

Highlights for me were Red Wine Bêtise (Oud Bruin), Verte (sour saison), and Salarium (gose). I would agree with Dunt that Salarium is top tier gose on par with Westbrook. I really dug the tartness of Verte, I hope they bottle that beer. Red Wine Bêtise blew me away. I'm not trying to homer but it was probably the best Oud Bruin I've ever had. I loved the tannic dry red wine qualities it had. When I was gushing to Chris about it he said that was his first ever attempt at an Oud Bruin and to just wait until I try the Wild Turkey version. That was his favorite.

All the other beers were good to very good. The Raspberry Berliner Weisse was yummy! And that nose on Wayward. Mmmmm.

Had a great time, even though I could only stay until 12:45 or so given previous obligations. Really looking forward to hopefully being able to spend the entire time at the next event. It was really cool seeing Chris outside shaking hands and chatting with everyone coming in at the beginning of the release.

I really enjoyed the Chardonnay Obelus on tap, and Verte was quite good too. Biere la Ruche was a nice change of pace, having a just a hint of residual sweetness, as well as extra perceived sweetness from the honey. I also had a bottle of Peur after I got back home to break in the new glass, and had I tried in advance, probably would have purchased even more. Hopefully the extra bottles of that and Ruche are available at One Trick Pony or future releases.

Any of my fellow FIBs go up to grab some NG Cranbic yet? I hit Woodmans on Saturday but so far I've just had the one I chugged in a parking garage in Milwaukee at 2am before driving home. I'm looking forward to trying it under more normal circumstances.

What more can be said about the Transient event? You all were spot on.
My wife and I had a great time with plenty of cheap pours and tacos to go around.
Got the Chard Obelus to start with and loved what the wine barrels did with the base beer. Decided to grab the two wine treatments of it for my extras and thought I was golden....until I had the Red Wine Betise. Wish I would have grabbed an extra of that beautiful beer. Definitely one of my favorite oud bruins to date. The gose and porter were also surprisingly excellent. Hope we see a BA Henry the next bottle release. Wish I could have stayed long enough to try that Raspberry Berliner since I didn't care for the Peach-Blueberry one. Had high hopes for it since I love the base berliner he brews. Can wait to pop into one of the Peurs after Thorpe429's suggestion!

Anyone else notice the two barrels (French oak and Heaven Hill) labeled "Wild #3" on the floor?

****! Kenosha had it already?
Wish I would have ran in yesterday morning on my way back home now.

Yep, I figured I'd stop in on my way up to Milwaukee to check, and there it was. Still some Scream and Apple Ale around too but no Oud Bruin as far as I could tell.

While enjoyed almost everything I had yesterday the one thing I will say is that it seemed some of Transient beers were a bit young and needed some time for more of the yeast, bacteria, etc. do some work. Aside from that everything that everyone already said is spot on, although I'm disappointed that Chris went with the logo he did for the glass. I love the logo that's on all the labels a lot more.

Hard to put on the glass though?

Hopefully they brewed as much as Oud Bruin...will be back through the area in a couple weeks. Kenosha always seemed like a week behind Madison getting it.

I kinda liked the simple hobo stick (or whatever the hell its called).
Swag-wise, my only disappointment was the shirt fit more like a Smedium...guess I just have to do some extra cardio.

Oh and did anyone get to ask Chris what the plans for the growler was? I'm guessing we'll get them after he gets to expand with OTP's increased capacity?

If anybody got any extra Transient bottles and want to do some sort of IP trade, I can definitely meet up during the FOBAB weekend. Have plenty of stuff from Hill, Cigar City, Michigan Breweries (Meads?), CCB, and others.

I thought the raspberry berliner was better than the blueberry peach. Nice raspberry flavor that went well with the tartness.

Near the end of the event, a few of us decided to blend Chris' cherry soda (which was amazing) with some Maigre (Chris pulled it out of the cooler). That was a highlight.

And both Betise bottles (Wild Turkey and Red Wine) sold out. Only ones to sell out.

After Corbot_3000 is taken care of I would love to get my hands on a bottle. Looking to do an IP in Chicago.

Agree with the shirt being on the small side. I exchanged mine for next size up and they did it with a smile. Seriously, the lady was pleased to do it.

So when I looked at my bottles I noticed that one of mine is unlabeled. Is that the one Chris was handing out after the initial pick up? If so it's the Red Wine Obelus, right? Does anyone else have an unlabeled bottle?

All of my bottles are labeled (including the Red Wine Obelus). When did you receive the bottle?

The unlabeled one? Don't know because when I got my extra bottles I didn't check them although I guess I should have and didn't check the bottle Chris handed out either. I know the bottles in the tote were labeled however.
