I stopped by Sheffield's a bit ago. They have Prop on draft in the beer school bar at $10 for 6 oz. They also just stocked the fridge with a couple Cherry Rye, Bramble, and Rare. The former two were $46 and $48 (or vice versa), and the Rare was...$105.

I passed on all 4. But thought I'd pass along for those so inclined...

What is the beer school bar? The back one?

There are two in the back I think. If you're facing the back in the open garden area (west?), it's the one to the right, as opposed to straight back.

Yo, thanks for sharing man. I'll be in town and may swing by on Saturday. It will be interesting to see this part of Randolph, as it's been revitalized quite a bit since I left the city. Last time I was in town, my wife and I grabbed dinner at the Girl and the Goat, which appears to be pretty close. Cheers!

And the people in that CCBE group on Facebook are eating that **** up.
I bet they are!

I know StoutFest gets all the buzz because OMG OMG OMG BCS BCS BCS but I think the BelgianFest events have been pretty good overall. Worth attending, at least.

Maybe.

Belgian Fest was just okay last year. I won't attend unless enough of my friends do.

It's tomorrow as far as the announcement.

But some bro was spouting off about it being some sort of Barrel Aged Abbey Ale called The Grand Vicar in that bro FB group..

Oh, did they change it? Thought they were doing it during the Thursday beer premiere.

The next bottle release is the Grimm Vicar, a Belgian dark abbey aged in wine and bourbon barrels. Release is set late September. Cheers!

....Meh!

How was it? I wanted to go but had no chance of making it.

If it is the same one I had at Great Taste (Heliostat I want to say), it was fantastic and really stood out.

Metropolitan is criminally underrated, and while I wish they were more popular for the sake of their business, I like it that even at Great Taste people just pass on by them looking for something sour / barrel aged / etc...

Their lager game is strong, and it was the one that was categorized as a "Czech Pilsner" at Off Color
