While the price increase isn't ideal, the fact is that the last couple of years, FOBAB has been a steal. Ticketed event prices are skyrocketing- as are things like beer dinners- to the point where anything less than $50 is surprising. Considering this is the best fest in Chicago- by far- I've got no problem throwing $65 at it.

Last year I tasted 54 different beers, averaging about an ounce each. Even with the new price, that comes out to $1.20 per ounce of often great beers, many of which I'll never be able to get again. That's worth it to me, especially for an event that is surprisingly easy to navigate and comfortable.

Either this guy's hashtaggin' is wrong or the '14 Vanilla is going to be in rye barrels. On top of Porter's comments about "throwing away the recipe book" for this, it's definitely appearing to be a very different beer than it was in 2010. That makes me think this release won't be the vanilla ice cream treat that it was in November of that year...
