I actually prefer them not having a restaurant. Hard to beat walking across the street and getting bad apple to go then eating it in the tap room.

While that is true, I usually just enjoy Bad Apple with some non-HA taps before hand to get a good base going.

I agree with both of you guys...I think the solution is that I just eat double and put on extra torque, which will help me become a better lifter of beverages to my mouth hole.

So breaking FIB news according to Craft Beer Compass on twitter. 500 mL bottles again from New Glarus Great Taste weekend. Doesn't say much about the beer he's sampling other than peach and blonde versions will be released that weekend. Prepare the mules as well as the work schedules.

They'll hold the release GTMW weekend to maximize FIB allotments.

Knew it.

i guess the semi-rumours that bb kriek is a thumbprint and not r&d release this year just got more plausible...

Not sure why this is classified as "breaking news," FIB or otherwise. Peach and Blonde are the only new pieces of information here, right? I suppose the fact that there will be two bottles released versus one is kinda news, but two R&D beers released on GTMW is not unprecedented. And I wouldn't expect two R&D beers to change people's behavior versus had there only been one.

Not sure who Craft Beer Compass is, but I guess I'll be curious to see if his prognostication is correct.

For those wanting to wait in line and bottle share, I have a better idea. Walk across the street and go to Dinkel's. Have one of the best chocolate frosted donuts you've ever had. Then have one of the best sour cream donuts you've ever had. Set up a good base for a long day of drinking.

Thanks for that tip on the donuts - A buddy and I are in town from Pittsburgh and NYC for a bachelor party while the other guys work part of the day. We are hitting Northdown for the first tapping or two (damn you boneyard and side project!). Hope to see some of you there... I'm looking at you Treebs

Putting this out there since Chicago whale game is always strong, if anyone/group local ends up getting a hold of the Bullfrog Grzz set and wants to do an expanded tasting I've got a bottle of Bullfrog Et Tu Brut I'd love to contribute along with other things.

I have nothing from Bullfrog, but I'll open Dark Lord

So sorry my post didn't meet your news standards. Rough day at the office or did you get your beer websites confused? I might expect this over on BA.

Sorry my post got your jimmies all rustled.

All I was implying is that, at this point, the information was merely a rumor by some craft beer "expert" with a blog. And that it may or may not prove true.

Well the guy posted pictures with Dan Carey on the hard hat tour. Is there a chance that the beer doesn't turn out as expected or isn't up to standard? Sure. Mentioning flavors that he was told on the NG tour is new information that people didn't have. Hence it is news. I made a post on TalkBeer talking about beer. Fairly simple.

I've learned over the years to treat any "news" on New Glarus as rumor until it is (a) posted on their social media, or (b) it shows up on the shelf. Even from people who supposedly have inside information from Dan. That's all.

Man, the FIB thread has been a contentious place over the last week or so. Here's a couple GIFs to hopefully soothe the jimmies.

I've got a few feelers out. Will keep you posted.

July 6th, Penrose is doing a Pig Roast at the brewery. They'll be closed to the public that day, so only ticket holders will be there. Bien Trucha, Niche, and Preservation Bread & Wine are in on the collab as well as a special beer brewed for the day. $45/ticket. 2 beers and all the food you can eat. Should be fun. I just figured some of the non-locals might be interested in making a day out of it July 6th if you haven't already visited the tap room. I don't want to put words in anybody's mouth but if the event is closed to the general public, I would assume you'll be able to check out the entire facility. I know this, it won't disappoint.

Lions Tigers Beers is a shitshow.

Ordered my first beer 25 min ago. No beer in front of me. Good start.
