In FIBS gotta FIB news, The Beer Cellar had to inform people via Facebook that it is not OK to hire homeless people to skirt the 1 bottle per person rule after someone tried it today. Another great day for humanity.

Saw that, too. Any idea what was for sale?

There were homies on the other site buying cases of Space Station, hoping to spin it for #rareloot, all while having no clue it was hitting distro.

Isn't beer awesome?

It's hard out there. Expressly after the nursing home and immigration caught on to my antics. I had to resort to real mules.

Did anyone go to Lagunitas last night? Is it a ticketed/on-a-list type of soft opening or a we-don't-want-a-shitload-of-people-here-so-we-aren't-'open-to-the-public'-yet soft opening? (it was really hard to hit dash every time instead of hitting space bar)

It was a soft opening....without any beer. Basically no reason to go unless you wanted to see the place, but I'd rather just wait a week or so until they're allowed to sell beer.

i bought a space station middle finger last night at the beer temple and skulled it. it is a very good beer. lol at people trying to flip it for whalez.

in other news, i just received a paypal invoice for the transient reserve society, and he gave an opportunity to buy extra shirts or glassware. neato.

Same. Never got any confirmation up to this point so I had forgotten about it.

Hooray!

I kinda hate questions like this but... Lost Abbey's Track 8 for $18 (plus tax)? I know it flew off the shelves and people were excited about it. Stumbled across a store with some bottles left but couldn't decide if it was worth it.

For reference, if you were to ask me what beer I usually like, I'd say I like good beer.

Did you drink your Gose gone wild yet? Really excited about that beer.Debating if I want to sit on it and let the brett do its thing or drink it fresh and enjoy a hopped up Westbrook Gose.

Let me know if you find your self able to buy extra transient you don't want. Would love to get my hands on a bottle and Glassware.

i drank it last night and it was quite nice. it basically tastes like a glass of salty lemon juice in a good way. if you wound up with 2, drink one now and age one for a couple months to let the brett do its work. i didn't get a whole ton of brett in my bottle.

From Pipeworks on the other site:

cans are coming... we'll have some great 'lower' alcohol hoppy offerings in them next year... we've been held up with our loan for the new facility for a little over 2 months now since our initial bank approval... we haven't been able to close because of some minor hurdles that we are working on every day... and then down payments will be made on canning line and new brewhouse!

we've already contracted hops for 6,000 barrels next year where we expect 4,000 barrels of that to be in cans. this year we'll do roughly 1,800 barrels in bombers and we're thinking bombers numbers will stay about the same for next year. so cans are definitely coming...

Lofty expectations for next year given the fact they don't have a canning line....or space for the canning line yet.

Anyone try Prove it Gruit from Spiteful? I tried it last night and was pretty much blown away. Anxious to try another one tonight just to make sure I am wasn't losing my mind last night but that was some great stuff.
