Pipeworks comment (2/13) from BA if anyone is interested:
i'm really not good at keeping secrets... because it's too fun to tell them...we're a few days away from signing the lease on our new facility.... which once completed will allow us to put ~15,000 barrels per year worth of beer into bottles, cans and barrels to start... with room to brew somewhere north of 40,000 barrels (or more, if we wanted to grow that big... we have no plans to, but the space will accommodate that). We hope to have a barrel program only second to GI. Once we get this deal going...we're going to have some major parties... =p

.... so gerrit wasn't bullshitting on his FB a few weeks ago. i assumed it was lack of sleep or somethin.

also I the ******* S Omygod ninjas in cans

If anyone is still looking for Sucaba there are 3 bottles on the checkout counter at Olivia's Market. $16.99. I've been slacking on my pimping so if Sucaba was super easy to score this year, just ignore me.

Thanks, Sucaba wasn't easy but if you wanted it, not to hard to come by.
Also I grab Main Lunch, bottle date 1-28-14, not super fresh but fresher than the Chinese food in the work fridge.

I was just about to ask if Sucaba made it to Chicagoland yet. Not out here to my knowledge but I can at least watch for it now.

It hit Binny's and local grocery stores late last week spanning the area from Bolingbrook/Naperville to New Lenox/Orland Park, so I'd imagine this week (today/tomorrow) or next week for you.

Gerrit whipping the Pipeworks cheerleaders into a frenzy.

So what's the word on the BCBS variant tasting that Goose Island posted a picture of earlier today?

Looks like that GI BCS variant tasting panel was for 5 gal trials of Apricot and Mole. Potential finalists? Maybe not. "Neither were that good".

Howeva, I hear they're doing some exciting -bal experiments....

And per a post on BA, ticket details for Beer Under Glass 2104 have been finalized: http://www.garfield-conservatory.org/beer_under_glass.htm . I've been a huge fan of this event in the past but $60... is a little high. Particularly since so much of the event is outside and if the weather doesn't cooperate...

looks like corn goop.

were any of the goop series worth a damn? never tried one.

To echo what everyone else said, they're pretty good. Fresh, anyway. All very hoppy, usually somewhere between Dreadnaught and Behemoth in terms of body. Ruggoop was probably my favorite but Risgoop was also good. Very DRIPA-like.

Hey, self! Great job being a dope and sleeping on this one too long. When you wrote this post it was probably already well on its way to being sold out!

I need to start calling more often and figure out the delivery schedule for the local stores. I was going off of the way it was a couple years ago when the FW release date was like a month prior to when Chicagoland got it.

I wouldn't throw in the towel if you really want it. I've stumbled into 2 bottles in the northwest burbs. Though one they wouldn't have given me if I wasn't a regular.
