Hey FIBs

A warning. The BA Thundersnow I opened tonight had a terribly rusty cap. I know Flossmoor has had these same issues with BA HiFi but hadn't heard about these.

Flossmoor Station,

Stop waxing your ******* bottles while they're still wet.

Thanks for the heads up. Will move mine to the on deck circle.

Super ISO Revbrew Galaxy Hero when it comes out this spring.

Easily done -- although last year this was my least favorite Galaxy beer (and I love regular old Anti Hero). Not bad, just bland. Hopefully this year's is better.

If you need someone to go in w/ you... Get at your boy!

I'll keep you posted. I may try to wait for something cool to come out but I don't know what the release schedule is like.

Stoutfest: March 29th at the Wrigleyville pub.

Mixed feels, but at least it's not on St. Paddy's AND in Wrigley...

The party room at Wrigley is about three times as big as Clybourn, so it might not be a bad move.

And maybe, just maybe, we won't have to elbow through all the *********s who get a pour and stand right in front of the table talking to their ********* friends instead of moving slightly out of the way so other people can get their pours. A man can dream...

Same thing with with Fireside Chat. Not completely rusted but had rust on the edges.

Sidenote: Wasn't thundersnow crap?

My opinion: it's a beer geek fallacy that AB-Inbev bought Goose Island for BCBS/3 Sisters. Beers like 312 are what the macro breweries are really afraid of: approachable, easy-drinking craft beers that are a modest step up in price from light beers that are the core brands of AB/MillerCoors/etc.

I've heard that Dark Matter coffee will be in this year's Dark Lord. This info came from Chicago coffee industry folks, but not from any Intelligentsia or Dark Matter employees. The story circulating is that Intelli rubbed Nick Floyd the wrong way, something to do with serving Dark Lord at some event when Nick told them they couldn't.

I was at a festival and a dark matter higher up said he had a handshake agreement with nick Floyd about switching to dark matter.

goodbeerhunting posted this on his instagram as well

congrats on the new partnership between Three Floyd's and @darkmatter2521 - two like-minded producers that will surely write a new chapter in Dark Lord history together.

Does anyone remember the cost of stoutfest (if you can get a damn ticket that is)?
$35 plus fees.

Also, because I like to complain about everything, even though Wrigleyville might be larger, I think they will just sell more tickets -- I wouldn't expect it to be any less crowded.

My thought as well. I don't recall the pouring area at Living Ales being terribly roomy, just a larger space for jags to take their pour, finish it and contemplate their next sample without moving.

I would assume there would be, just with the Dark Matter Logo on the back instead of the Intelligentsia logo. We all know FFF loves to make money and I can't imagine them leaving a few G's on the table.

My thought as well. I figured FFF were having the glasses made, not Intelli.

Even if Intelligentsia was, I'm sure it was at the discretion of FFF considering their logo was on the glass. All FFF would need to do is say "Hey, Dark Matter. Make this glass."

Anyone pick up Maine Lunch, guess it's in town. Debating going through the trouble to pick up. Seems like Chicago has been getting really old stock from Maine or and the distributor lately. Any word on the bottle date?

It's possible we only got one shipment...

If anyone makes it over to Half Acre to try Shewolf when they release it, please let me know how it is. Been on my radar a while and would like to know if I should try to find a bottle.
