Deth's Tar aside, we have this new Peanut Butter Brown Ale called "Carver's Candy" that is my new favorite thing going right now. The PB is melded perfectly into the beer and hits the spot in a similar way as Coffee Eugene. If any of you are familiar with our brewer and awesome homebrewer Andy Lautner (former Spiteful, former Transient), he's the one that created it. Can't recommend it enough, but unfortunately it will be taken off at the Taproom during the event. It's on at the Brewpub.

Love the beers that Droo comes up with. Thanks for the heads up.

This Supermassive Café is something else. Very, very good - I just fear for my heart if I drink too many of them.

Not a huge fan of Maple Deth. It’s just way too sweet for me.

Agreed. The two Lynotts are really good.

I'm right next to the exit door from the line into the taproom. Say hi.

I am at the bar under the right tv - a real plum spot where I get to listen to someone brag about flipping allotments of BCS and getting Pappy bottles in razzles. I’d say look for the overweight bearded white guy in a black t-shirt but that sounds like parody (it isn’t).

Best one I had. Though I have to say, supermassive was much closer to what I remember from b1 cafe Deth, which I thought was a bcbcs killer (lower bar each year admittedly) and really one of the best beers I’ve ever had. Still grabbed some cafe Deth to go but it was not really on same level for me. And supermassive was not overpowering coffee like some said either.

Missed the 18 Lynotts which seemed to be popular.

personal fave was '17 lynott but definitely something i didn't want more samples of due to just how crushingly huge it was. similarly with supermassive, which grew on me a bit. rest were good except maple; wife and i agreed that it was by far the worst and we wound up abandoning ship after a sip each.

Super bummed I had to miss these with an illness. Hoping the four packs survive a few days until I'm able to head out that way.

Deth by Plums is awesome. I loved it when they first had it as a variant. Saw Josh Noel kind of poo-poo it in his writeup. Others saying is too sweet. Whatever. This is what I wish Clare’s would return to with the raspberry.

I think a lot about his "gotcha" blurb from his Bourbon County article a year or two ago about the phony BCBS variants that Goose submitted to TTB, Neapolitan and Horchata, and how sad it would've been if they had deigned to stoop so low.

THOSE WERE BETTER IDEAS THAN WHAT THEY PUT OUT THAT YEAR.

What a thread.

Don't really feel bad for either side involved here fwiw. Think it's kinda funny, actually.

I don't always agree with Josh (see above) and his jimmies are most definitely rustled in that tweet storm, but his work is good and nobody has done more journalistic coverage about Bourbon County than him. It's fair to say that he's on the shortlist of most distinguished beer journalist in the city of Chicago, if not the top of it.

What's strange is that his coverage of BCBS has always been quite positive, falling just short of total praise. He's clearly a fan of the beers and intends to give them an honest review from the perspective of someone who knows the history and has a context of the rest of the industry. To snub him now, even after allowing him in last year after the BCBS book came out, is pretty surprising and a weak move on GI's part.

I guess spon-con is all they think they need now...

Whatever you do, dont be a brewpub with a gender neutral bathroom in Chicago and let josh do his first restaurant review. I could swear we lost a star in our trib review because Joshy was sweating bullets thinking someone was gonna try and scope his bits when he peed. If you read the review, two sentences on beer, four on a ****** toilet.

Where is this review? Also, you all get bonus points for changing stations in both bathrooms, E. spends way too much time at The Bungalow...

Josh does come off as a bit whiny but I think he has a right to be, he is the beer writer for the Chicago Tribune, writes more about Bourbon County than anyone I know. And although he has some negative things to say (such as the 1995 vs 1992 thing and being honest about the sell out) he is very fair. And his reviews of BCBS are generally very positive. Seems kind of vindictive.

Everyone knows 4 individual room stalls with a communal sink is where its at

As a dad of XX/XY twinz, that **** needs to be everywhere anyone can go.

I think changing a kid on a dirty-ass bathroom floor builds character for all parties involved.

I do think that airplane bathrooms should be legally twice the size they currently are, though, because changing a kid on one of those requires some yoga **** I can't do very well.

Don’t disagree but the building layout forced two rooms...one day we’ll reorg to two rooms, 2 individ, and 2 sinks.

herpes, pops up when you least expect and is more annoying than the blistery, itchy, burning rash.

I think it's honestly a #bothsides issue.

Josh is unquestionably Chicago's most well known beer journalist who writes for the largest paper and has been writing about beer for 10+ years now. It's undeniably a deliberate snub on Goose's part.

But, Josh writes about ABInBev's practices of buying out music festivals, limiting the market, vertical integration all the time and always makes sure to mention Goose while doing so, and more often than not it looks like a deliberate barb. Why would you want that guy at your party that's always going out of his way to make you look bad?

Also **** Josh for not writing about Do Right.

(Josh if you see this, know that i love you and i'm kidding kind of)
