Anyone heard anything about Zwanze Day? Assuming business as usual, but it's always nice to have confirmation.
I've been wondering the same - the website still states "details forthcoming," which I've been interpreting as "we'll verbally tell the people who we want to be there about the event, everyone else is on their own."

If anyone has the Off Color stein from last night, I would be interested in purchasing/trading-for it.
that makes two of us but from a picture I saw from one fella (a lover of beer glassware most of you know), I'm assuming the 125 sold out. Tooch4321 you manage to save any, especially for the resident penguin aficionado?

I am not a glassware 'lover' any longer, just a big OC fan who wants to fill a stein with Yuzu Fierce.

But I do have some cool glassware available if someone has the stein.

In typical WLV fashion they’ll post details to social media a week before.
This is my favorite part these days. Most people want a taplist and list of guest breweries attending, so hype chasers from the midwest go to Side Project or Jolly Pumpkin. I just go to WLV and get ****** up. Or really, get ****** up at mishuggah's house after.

I definitely enjoy the laid back nature of it...walked over and arrived as the event started and the line moved quick and had my glass full of delicious beer shortly there after.

Seems like at this point the WLV Zwanze day model is pretty well established. It will be unlimited food and drink for around $85-$90. Both the food and drinks will be very good. The event will not be as busy as it should. Last, but not least if they have Unfiltered Pilsner Urquell again then you should drink as much of that as you can stomach.

Ha...I wish! Not one single staff member waddled away with one, I think it was like a total of around 150 gone in under 25min. I do have some upcoming t-shirts for the twins featuring those adorable little penguins as a consolation...

Also seeing people pay for Buffalo Trace Antique Collection and Van Winkle pours with so much amazing stuff on the menu makes me sad.

Their ignorance is why there are so many weird/fun old bottles for you to drink.

"Ten High Ten? Never heard of it. Stitzel-Weller juice?"

Sounds like they're blaming the new beer bill for their ****** business. Not sure how that could have negatively affected them...

Maybe they'll reopen the old, good Marion Cheese Market there again!

Wow, especially considering the capital they have to be working with these days.

I'll be honest, I was only ever in that spot for Oak Park Micro Brew Review, but it seemed niced enough to suceed.

Food was awful and the service was bad and I had some pale ale of theirs I'd never heard of and it was bad, too.

With how that area is building out, I don't see how a good business wouldn't survive. The Target on the otherside of the tracks, all the new condos going up... Original Marion was in that location for about 8 years. A change in ownership and focus ****** that place over but it did really well for a long while.

But this actually makes me excited to see what takes that space.

Tribes is the la pasadita (of 2000’s) of brewing. How many breweries or bars do they have now on wolf adjacent?
They didn't plan it out in advance. First there was Galway Tribes in Frankfort. That closed and he opened Tribes Alehouse in Mokena. That place was a stellar beer bar and meant a lot to me in 2009-2010. Then they opened the second Tribes Alehouse location in Tinley. I still go to this location regularly, as their taplist is always solid. Then he decided to get into the brewery game by expanding and brewing out of the Mokena location. Someone here posted the for sale page for the Tinley location right around the time they were getting their now third location and main brewpub in Frankfort up and running. I don't know what the plans are for either the Tinley or Mokena locations are, but I wish they could dial in some decent recipes for their house stuff. Of all the beers I've tried from them, there's only been one pale ale I would ever revisit.

But I do believe the Tinley/Orland/Mokena/Frankfort area could support another half dozen brewpubs without issue. These damn towns are still growing.

Ain’t there 7 in tinley? we looked at mokena as a farm production spot but didnt want to spend the time & money to strip the garbage water there and build it back up. not to mention there's a touch of #MAGA in that area that scarred the socialist wimps away. but ya, you could print money for a few years in that area with average to below average beer. aint there somethin in new lenox now? banging gavel or arrow or somethin?

There's definitely a large MAGA contingent among the upper-middle to upper class south side boomers. I can walk to two Confederate participation trophy flags in Oak ******* Forest.

Arrowhead Ales in New Lennox has a Tribes Tinley esque feel to it, but I thought the beers / food was pretty good when I was out there (and the owner Mike is a good dude).

The new one in New Lennox (Hickory Creek) on the other hand I've heard very bad things about the beer quality.

Banging Gavel in Tinley has been around for a while, but they are contract brewing to the best of my knowledge and I really only see them at festivals (although apparently they are putting product out into retail these days). Can't speak to the beer quality as I've only ever tried a couple of festival one off's they made (had made?).
