Got excited for something to do since thenbetter half is outa town and I’m bored... realized it was someplace in the cornfieldshttps://www.beermenus.com/places/5996-niche
In case anybody wants to stop over for some Tilquin on draft tomorrow night. A few harder to find local BA beers as well with vintage SJ & Port Abduction. Celebrating 6 years of bottleshares. Come buy some food and we’ll pour you some good stuff for free. Feel free to bring a bottle or few as well. Should be a fun night. Cheers.
It’s a 4 minute walk from the Metra on a beautiful day. Closer to farms equals closer to food during harvest season.Got excited for something to do since thenbetter half is outa town and I’m bored... realized it was someplace in the cornfields
and now 51st ward is defunct...crazy the amount of stuff on shelves from 'breweries' that are no longer.Urban Legend > Myths and Legends > Whiskey Hill
Original ownership group > Tim Hoerman leaves to start 51st Ward Brewing > First name change > Ownership change > Second name change.
I never made it out there during the Myths and Legends days, and based on the beers they are producing now, I'm sure it'll be a while until I make it out there again.
Visiting ****** breweries so you don’t have to..."Tony Tries" / "Gonzo Goes" should indeed be obligated to update his travelogue.
I fashion Antonio as the Geoffrey Baer of Chicagoland alcoholic endeavors.
51st wardAnyone have a running list of defunct breweries from the past two years (Chicagoland specific)? Just curious generally to see who has quietly gone away.
Three more that come to mind:51st ward
Aquanaut
Baderbrau
...
That’s all I know off the top of my head and I don’t pay attention.
Arcade, Cademon, and Flesk are three more that come to mind. I'm sure there are many more.
However could I have forgotten that pillar of the beer community Cademon.Four more that come to mind:
Arcade
Breakroom
Cademon
Flesk
I'm sure there are many more.
Wow, I had no idea. I stopped seeing their product appearing on local shelves and unfairly assumed they had gone under. Glad to hear they're still keeping the dream alive!Flesk closed at it's previous location (as I'm sure you know...), but they are still going strong.

Another one I have to check out here eventually...
RIP in peace Big Hurt Brewhouse.

Sorry y’all didn’t make it. TheBus and the rest of us are working through a lot of lambic and assorted nonsense. Try the veal loin.

I was trying to convince Jeb to come join us last night. I wasn’t trying to explain how they got the keg. I guess I could’ve asked but I didn’t really care.Yeah but doesnt mean they get priority, specially over places in the city that do more volume.
That place looks awesome, it's just so ******* far for a south suburbanite.View attachment 433

Anyhow that’s my best effort at a final shot. Seemed like 20 or so folks at the peak over around 5 hours. HF WoL Anchorage vs HF WoL SARA were my favorites.
