Three comments...

1. The fact that A&G is the highest rated on Untappd is correct and gives me newfound faith in humanity
2. It's interesting how you get a deal for buying the 750ml instead of the 375ml, which is standard logic. But then you get pulverized for buying the magnum.

That's just kind of the nature of magnums. If you've ever had the thought around New Year's, "instead of getting two bottles of Champagne I'll just get a magnum and that'll be way cooler anyway," you'll know that Drie isn't an outlier.

So, when Read Dead Redemption came out I named one of my horses Mandy Patinkin and put it online, tagging Posehn and Cross and everyone and calling it “as the prophecy hath foretold” Cross immediately untagged himself. Like 3 weeks later Posehn comments “that’s pretty great” and then a day or two later I got a Cross like.


It was a good week.

Also, when that Walgreens got Cantillon that River North rep got suspended for a day or two, and the Walgreens buyer at that store monogrammed the back of his track jacket to say “The guy that got Cantillon into Walgreens”

I bought a Russian River 3L at their brewpub last year and it was exactly 8x the cost of their 375mls, which was a nice surprise. Stay small, stay beautiful.

Is it fair to say that in both labor (hand-corking) and material (the bottle) it costs more for Russian River to produce a 3L than 8x 375mL bottles?

Buying beer is VERY new money... REAL old money haven't bought beer since 2015 and only drink hype releases completely forgotten by time as they intermittently chuckle mirthfully to themselves over the State of Craft Beer in 2019 and contemplate the gravity their impeding divorce caused, in no small part, by those very same beers.

What I'm saying is, you'll get there.

I was about to argue and say no, that even though a 3L bottle is expensive, so are the nice 375s that Russian River uses and that 8 + 8 corks & cages would cost more than 1 3L. Rather than spout nonsense, I e-mailed the Controller of Russian River and he told me that an empty 3L bottle is indeed a good bit more expensive than 8 small bottles combined. So you sir are indeed right and I am wrong. I am going to punish myself by buying an A&G magnum.

I try not to pimp my own events on here too often, but I legitimately think you guys might be interested to know that we're tapping Girardin lambic tomorrow for what might be the first time ever in the states - can't confirm that.

In addition, we literally just decided yesterday to have a lambic sale as well. All bottle Belgian lambics will be on sale. It's the first time we've had a sale of any kind as far as we can remember - kinda funny it's on lambic.

Anyway, the 3F Magnums will be part of that for sure - I think saying the prices on here might go too far - feel free to check it out on FB - we'll be putting up the prices soon.

This will be for bottled lambic to drink at the bar as well as to-go. Tomorrow only. Cheers.
