Made the mistake of thinking the VSOD release might be a 2 day party like Deths Tar was. Came in to Revolution today for that barleywine Reserve blend. Much disappointment.

Wife and I have always enjoyed it, especially for the price. Though I am trying to recall a time when I didn't do the grilled cheese with bacon and fries ($7 and change), so I can't speak to the full menu.

Will be there a lot more once our place is done. About two blocks away.

Well gumshoe...it was barrel and I think they tapped 15 gallons so my chief senses tell me there’s at least two kegs left. That is unless that rascal Carmen sandiago absconded with them.

Corner store near me put out all of the stouts they have been hoarding. 750ml bottles of KBS? $51. Abraxas? $35. Regular BCS bottles were only $12, though. That one surprised me.
Didn’t even check prices on Black Note, Deth’s Tsar or anything else they had out.

ETA: one store’s insane mark-up notwithstanding, just makes the point all over again that a $30 4-pack for a BA coffee beer is pretty damn good.

I do my best to not spam general info threads with goings-on. It just doesn’t feel right. Never did it at Binnys either. It’s a discussion forum for enthusiasts, not a place to continuously promote. Imagine how annoying this thread were to be if all the breweries used it as a marketing platform, it would be annoying as hell.

I dunno, I view it as your forum, not mine. If I really wanted to promote something I’d make a separate thread.

Garden Gourmet in Wicker Park. They generally don’t price gouge and it’s my go-to for beer, bourbon and Dark Matter coffee beans.

But sometimes they get weird ideas and do things like (hypothetically) sell New Glarus beer. Not sure the liquor license is worth that.

I think every time a Rev event has been discussed here- even details- it has been brought up by non-Rev member of this forum. I definitely do not feel like this is being used as promotional tool for one brewery or another. That Rev is being discussed as much as they are lately is due to their awesome ****.

That was probably to let everyone in before it sold out and gripes were received. I bought my ticket with regrets of approximately 0 and considered it more of an insider tip than anything resembling spam

I don’t see a problem. I’ve seen Transient anf middlebrow pump events in here in the past. beeraficionado has used this thread to post things that we might be interested in. Should there be an official rev thread? Why is that needed? Should we have a official threads for every brewery?
