This just made me laugh so hard. Thank you.

Someone on Untappd said "the last 2hrs wasn't that bad" how long did he wait???

They managed to get pretty much everyone into the brewery I think so almost no one was waiting outside. VIP ticket was the way to go though. I had biscuits and gravy, a barrel aged flight, paid for my bottles (6 BA Spectral, 2 BA VanillaCocoaCinnamon Spectral btw) and was headed back home by 11am. Plus I got to hang out with sleuthdog!

Much much smoother than the first Wild release (except for the lack of powz87 tho).

Thanks for saying Hi? No one looked like an owl so I couldn't find you.

If you are the sort that is interested in Bare Bear, I just bought a 4 pack at St. Charles Binny's so it exists in the wild now. Wasn't even expecting it - figured they said first week of March.

Looked for you but wasn't sure if the guy I thought was out was in fact you. There was another guy who could have been you as well. Why can't people be easy to spot like powz87 or yeahnatenelson.

Beers nerds really do look all alike.

I was sitting with sleuthdog at the table right by the door. I was sitting as close to the door as you possibly could in the taproom and wearing a Trve Brewing tshirt.

Ferowcious with the smackdown of dumb & dumber!

If there was ever someone who shouldn't have been on a high horse, it's him.

It's tough to give context in 140 characters on Twitter earlier, but last night we went to Northdown after Goose. We had a table of 5, and we joked about the idea of getting LPK, LPF and Mamouche. Our server sounded excited about it (as anyone about to start a tab with $160 before any food has been purchased would be)

She asked if we wanted them all at once and we discussed it being staggered so bottles didn't warm up too much, which she said was no problem. We had Mamouche, and LPF and then we were told LPK was gone, which was a surprise given that it sounded like she was holding it for us.

Disappointing but we had a great night none the less. No one was bitter or angry from our table. We were sold into a far fetched idea by our kind, well meaning server and then it didn't come to fruition. No hard feelings.

JEG trying to come off as a beer white knight made my morning though, especially following last night's Blushing Monk debacle on CCBE.

Time enough to plan on how generous to be with the unwashed masses:

What is actually happening. I'm pretty hammered up tonight. I have to leave Iowa by 9am. Glad to see Dunt at least try to talk sense into the mouth breathers. Can I say that on talk beer?

God damn you suck. Seriously. How the **** are you a certified translator of law??//

Jesus God have mercy on the people who take your legal "advice".
Well, you know, he went to a law school in a state where the only qualification for getting a law license is to graduate from a law school. No need to take a pesky bar exam. So... arguably, he was certified when he completed course credit*.

I don't know why I'm bothering to further beat this dead horse but I will swear on my mother's grave that there was a post on BA -- likely before the big server upgrade they did years and years ago -- where he decried the practice of FIBs traveling north to Wisconsin to pick up limited-release beers. This was likely in connection to one of Central Waters' releases and could have been before the 2012 influx of neckbeard/mouth-breather extraordinaires. If I recall, the gist of it was that out-of-staters had no "right" to buy bottles "meant" for a particular local market. Granted - youth. But also, and in hindsight, clearly a case of early-onset irony.

* I will note that Illinois doesn't allow reciprocal admission to people who gain their law license in this manner.

i must have missed that one and didn't see it scrolling back through ccbe, what happened?
Looks like the initial offending post was taken down as was the second -- he posted some picture of someone with a shopping cart full of Blushing Monk without making it clear that it was some old picture. Jimmies were rustled. Additional jimmies were further cross-rustled. It just reeked of someone finally finding a small enough pond where they are, de facto, the big fish.

Not to be a contrarian, but this is how nearly every state should be. The bar exam is a bunch of introductory garbage, and is way more about testing memory rather than critical thinking. If you're practicing a subject that's tested on the bar exam, you'll be woefully underprepared if all you know is what's tested. Then there are all the people like me who practice something not even remotely related to anything on the bar exam, so it's even more pointless.

Also, and this might just be personal bitterness for having to take the IL exam after 4 years in VA/DC, but the 5-year practice requirement for waive-in that most states have is also ridiculous.

Just so this post has something to do with beer, very much looking forward to the Transient release today :D
