Hi guys, I'm new to the forums but a long time lurker. I'm looking for some feedback on my hop bill for an APA. As a New Zealander I've used almost exclusively local hops in the past but have just ordered 100g (3.5oz) each of Falconers Flight and Citra.

Grain bill for 5gal batch is around 85% 2-row and 15% light crystal/dextrine with an OG of 1.058. I want to achieve an IBU of about 45-50 max so it's fairly balanced.

Currently the plan is (metric I know but think 28g/oz)

10g FF @ 60
20g FF @ 15
30g FF and 20g Citra @ 5
30g Citra @ 0
40g FF & 50g Citra dry hop

45IBU

I'd appreciate any feedback on the hop bill. I really want the Citra to shine hence holding it all for late additions. Thanks in advance.

Looks good. Getting ready to do my first FF ipa. I personally would increase your ibu but that is up to you. You should have some nice aroma with that schedule

I think you're dead on actually. I'd leave the IBU exactly where it is at with those hops.

For a pale ale? 45 is bang on. Should be nice and juicy when this one comes out - let us know how it tastes!

So halfway through the keg now, and this absolutely shone. Great aroma and taste from the hops, possibly my best brew yet.

FF seems to be a lesser hyped hop, but I did an IPA with one and it really turned out fantastic. 68 ibus, and that hop really shined.

I used the Zombie Dust malt bill and subbed in FF for the hops in place of Citra.
