Have a Pumpkin Ale in my Fermenter. Had it in for 2 weeks went out of town during the 2 weeks and have since forgotten about it. It's been fermenting now for 3 weeks and a few days. I will be bottling it on Friday it that'll make it a total of 4 weeks fermenting. Just curious if anyone had any experience with an accidental long fermentation and what it might do to the final product?

You're fine, especially if the airlock was full. I left a pumpkin stout in primary for 6 months last year, and it was delicious.

In general, get hop-forward beers into the keg or bottle sooner to preserve hop aromas. Most other ales will do fine with a 3-4 week primary.

I wouldn't be surprised if your beer turns out better because of it...

4 weeks isnt too long at all. Its longer than I would ferment most beers, but wont hurt it at all
