Fermenter size question

I'm relatively new to homebrewing (4 months). Since that time I've rapidly expanded my operation and I'm almost ready to do my first all grain batch. I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this question but I really want this fermenter so I’ll see what you experts think. I have the opportunity to buy a 17 gallon plastic conical fermenter for $100. My question is can I do 5 gallon batches in it? I'm sure eventually I’ll do bigger batches once I get my all grain setup going but in the meantime I want to continue 5 gallon batches. Obviously the headspace will be HUGE but will it be too much?
