Been have problems with fermentation temperatures this winter. This is my first winter home brewing so it has been a new experience for me. Its perfect for doing lagers. When on the ground and against an outside wall I can get temps down to 50 degrees with any extra cooling.
This is a problem when I am trying to do ale and other beers that don't require the cold temperatures.
My solution was to create a heated tank with a 10g rubbermaid cooler and an aquarium heater.
Got my first batch in the tanks this weekend. Temps have been holding stable for the first day and half.
