Hi all. I am an all grain brewer. Started brewing again early this year after taking a break for 15 years. My first few batches went fine then I started having problems with my fermentation sticking. My last 6 batches cannot get the finish gravity below about 1.033 or so. Does not matter what recipe or style of beer I make. My question is what should I be looking at. What are the different variables that can cause this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Dan

Are you using a refractometer to measure the gravity? Have you calibrated your thermometer lately? Post up your last recipe and how it finished.

Yea we need to your OG to see how far along it's really going. Your sure 1.033 isn't supposed to be your FG, might just be a malty grain bill. Fermentation temps are an absolute necessity that many people over look, a consistent temperature of around 60-70 (Palmer) is an absolute must that will produce consistent flavors and a healthy environment for your yest.

How did you aerate prior to pitching? Low amounts of O2 can cause a fermentation to stall.
