Ive just finished building this box to control my fermentation temps and thought id share it on here.

Ive used a plastic box filled with water and heated with a cheap aquarium heater. I live in a cold climate so keeping my beer cool isn't often an issue. If theres ever a hot spell i can just add some ice.

For insulation i built another box with 2x2 and sterlin board with loft insulation between the two walls. The aquarium heater only went down to 65F so i modified a room thermostat by adding a probe and used that.

So far its working really well. An advantage of using the water bath is that the fermentation temperature doesnt seem to exceed the temperature of the water so i don't have to adjust the thermostat at all.
