So I've been extract brewing for a year or so with no problems. I have a Midwest supplies bucket that I have only used once. It has a rubber gasket and everything but for some reason it's not a tight seal so I think the CO2 leaked out. Its only been one day and I placed some weights on top and its bubbling through airlock now. My question is have I already ruined the beer?

Thanks Charlie

As long as there is positive pressure from the inside your beer is fine. Fermentation is going to produce CO2 and keep that positive pressure .

I think Anchor Brewing must have ruined a much bigger batch with no cover on their fermenters. http://www.anchorbrewing.com/blog/w...8/Anchor-Steam-Beer-open-fermentation-500.jpg

I don't think your beer will suffer at all from a slight leakage. Mine doesn't.
