Oh totally! Plus I’m buying extras of everything for this weekend!

Should be sending your LOT out tomorrow.

No worries; I'm gone for the next two weeks on work trips. I think I have like two or three boxes for the wife to manage ... she'll be over the moon with having to truck boxes inside :)

Please don’t get in a wreck, please don’t get in a wreck, please don’t...

When is the opening thread gonna start, and when would pick day be? I only ask because im moving to guam July 15th and i don't wanna miss out on what will be my last one possibly due to the shipment of overseas....but then again, perhaps i could be the first international trader?!

I'm good with shorter times. As a side note, I am in search of Big Bad Baptist Reserve, if anyone can get ahold of it and wants to trade let me know. Chances are we won't see it around me.

What do you all think about shortening the time from the opening of the thread to pick day? I hate that some of these offerings have such fresh beer that is sitting for a month.

Just because the thread is posted doesn't mean the beer for an offer is purchased on day 1. The only time during which the beer is guaranteed to get stale is between the "offer due date" and the pick date.

I would actually argue that longer thread posting times helps prevent stale beer by providing participants more notice of when the pick will happen. For instance in my case I tend to acquire beer for FotD by visiting the breweries themselves. If I know that the next round will be posted with only 1-2 weeks of lead time - and don't know when it will be posted - I'll start acquiring beer for it well in advance of the thread being posted. By contrast, if the thread is posted with a month of lead time before offers are due, I'll plan to visit breweries the week before offers are due.

What coffee did you roast and send @orionol73? I'm always curious now that I started roasting my own coffee since December.

It's as a result of FotD that my girlfriend now drinks Ethopian Yirgacheffe. While I knew the impact this swap would have on my beer budget, the impact it's now had on my coffee budget was completely unexpected...

Going to agree with thorrak. longer times mean I can plan out trips to buy my offerings easier. Items that are better fresh I'll buy closer to the deadline. Gotta space these trades out a little bit too in order to help the wallet.

+1 on that -1

Most of the time I’m right at the buzzer with my offers just so everything is fresh af. At least when the majority of my offer is hoppy. Which it mostly is... anyway, I usually add some freshies is they come out between the deadline and the pick.

If anything, condense the time between the pick order and the actual pick. At least then we wouldn’t have to re-randomize for the #1 spot too many times. [emoji6] :ban::ban::ban:

First, I would not make someone send overseas, so I will remove myself from the FOTD for that time.....however.....the more we wait for the next round, means then less time I have, sooooo.....lets go!!!

I’m just busting on you, anyways. I wouldn’t mind sending something overseas. It probably wouldn’t be much worse than sending stuff across the US.

I wonder if flat rate priority boxes work to Guam?

Alright, alright, alright. I wanted to float the idea. I agree that it’s best to wait until closer to the offer due date. I also agree that maybe we could shorten the time between the offer due and pick day to a week max if at all possible.

Most of the local beer I get isn’t sold in singles so being able to spread my purchase out over at least 2 pay periods helps. I can’t grab up six 4 packs on the same day. All of my beer has been in my kegerator at 38 degrees since I got it. It shouldn’t go bad that fast at near freezing temps.

please tell me some of that is for next round? I think I see a few sours in there!!

I've looked at this picture several times since you posted this. Hell, I TOOK the picture. I still have no idea how you were able to spot the sours...
