been 3 days now and i haven't had a single beer or a smoke. let the snipping and biting begin.
 
Wow- good for you. That's quite an achievement. I think it would be incredibly hard to give up both at the same time. Is giving up the beer permanent, or just a temporary thing?
 
im attempting to cut down on the drinking to around 2-3 nights a week instead of 5-6.
 
it's easy for me to not smoke if i'm not drinking. after a few beers, i feel the itch.

the big step was to quit smoking at work. i don't even crave one at all until i'm off work, at home and have a beer in my hand.

i'm now a 2-3 cigs a day guy. beer is another story...minimum of two per day, but i keep really light stuff on hand.
 
This is my first day back at work after Christmas holidays...I was off for 9 days...

I can hardly talk...

Too much booze over the holidays...not enough sleep...I strolled in the door after the Saturday night binge at 5:38am...the kids are climbing the walls...

And to top it off ...SWMBO left late last night for a full week away for work...so I'm home with the three kids...and they're all back to school today.

I found grapefruit helps take the edge off jonesing for a smoke when quitting, so do those little strawberry hard candies with the jelly in the center. At least they helped me. Violent videogames help with the stress & frustration; though your nieghbors might think you're a homicidal maniac when they hear you yelling & don't realize that you're actually playing a game. If you're down to a 2 or 3 cig a day habit, it should be a lot easier for you, I quit a pack a day habit cold turkey, no nicotine gum or patches. If you can go a full 7 days without a smoke, you've got it licked. Good luck to you, GF.
