Favorite breweries in London

Hi everyone!

I am taking a trip to London in a few months and want to ask what breweries you had a great time at or historic places every homebrewer should take a pilgrimage to while there. Besides craft beer, I am excited to try a lot of cask ales and take in the full UK experience.

The Harp pub was really cool when we went like 7-8 years ago. They won CAMRA awards for their cask beers years back. They are a Fullers pub but I think they have a decent rotation of guest casks. Speaking of Fullers you can visit the brewery and I think they still do tours. They have a tasting room that has a lot of their line on cask which would be a great way to try some of their harder to find ones. The pub next door to the brewery had Gale’s beers in cask as well.

Eat at a Fullers pub, then check out one by Greene King as well to get different cask options.

Thanks!! This sounds like a wonderful time. I am excited to add these to the line up to have a full tasting of casks. I am going to research a tour as well to see if they still do. appreciate it

It might be worthwhile to google some untied pubs in London as well, since the Fullers and Greene King ones will have mostly their own brands. Could be interesting to find something independent that might have an even wider variety from nearby regions. When I go back I’ll probably do that!

I suggest you look into the Bermondsey Beer Mile. it's a walkable route of about 15-20 breweries or brewery bars. Particular highlights are Anspach & Hopday, it Ain't Much If it Ain't Dutch, Cloudwater, The Kernel & Small Beer.

I really enjoy this idea as well. Might hit one tour like Fullers (as it is included in our London pass) and hit more of the independent pubs that have a lot of local beer. If my research turns anything, I will make the list here and give a little update in October!

This started in the 1970s and you can find events and pubs that serve Real Ale. I was a member long ago.

You can search with filters. Cask Ale Historic Interior and Pub are good choices.
