Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. The ONLY reason they are good is because of money. With a level playing field they don't even compete in the MLB because of how poorly they are run.

LOL "Leadership on the field and in the front office keep the Bronx Bomber heads above the rest of the competition"

Thats a good one...thanks for the laugh

Let me start off by saying that I am true blue, Dodger fan. I am envious of how the Yankees are run. As an organization, they are committed to fielding the best team in order to win the World Series. That should be the goal of EVERY MLB team, sadly, it is not.

Bottom line,MLB is a business! I do not feel sorry for any team that choses not to run its' organization as such. The Dodgers(for example) sell over 3.6 million tickets per year! Yet, the current owners run the team very poorly-we won't be signing any impact players this season or the next, our payroll will be slashed again, and the owners will hopefully be forced to sell the team to settle their divorce...(currently @ $19 million in legal fees and climbing)

There are strong loyalties between fans and their chosen teams, but loyalty takes a backseat to performance and compensation from a franchise and player perspective(respectively). Why be upset at the Yankees' for making a ton of money and reinvesting it back into the ballclub every year?

what do you mean by "level playing field"? The Yankees are obviously run very well to offer such a consistent product. They have historically had great managers, players, and owners.

What team do you root for? I'm sure it's tough living in Oregon and not having a MLB team to call your own

I really don't want to explain to yet another person about the effects of no salary cap in a particlar sport. They simply buy championships...it's really no secret. I have season tix to the Seattle Mariners (speaking of poorly run organizations). I've been following them since I was a kid. I used to watch Griffey Jr. play in the King Dome. I also have season tix to the Seahawks and Oregon Duck football. Im a big football guy, but baseball is nice and relaxing. Its only a three hour drive to Safeco or Qwest field. Makes for a long day...but its a nice drive and well worth it

You cannot "buy a championship" you can field the best team for the amount of money you're willing to spend. If you don't want to explain you're views on salary cap vs. competition, no problem. It just makes you sound like a whiner. I'd be upset if I was a Mariner fan as well! Talk about a GM who built a team around defense because it was more cost effective than pursuing proven offensive threats-He gambled(with your season ticket money) and lost. I doubt you'll ever see Montero or Adams make the impact Lee made while he was a Mariner!

LOL...

"whiner" thats good.

Yet another pompous Yankee fan...shocker

At least Im loyal to my team and not a bandwagoner fan who just picks the winning team. Must be hard to a Yankee fan. You clowns can have them.

You must NOT have read my posts-I AM NOT,nor ever will be, a Yankee fan. I am a LA Dodger fan. I am NOT a band wagoner, and don't root for anyone except the Dodgers. I said I was "tipping my cap to the bronx bombers" for getting Lee. How many beers have you had today?

you do kind of sound like one though...

Just talking a lil sports trash here is all. I obviously can't stand the Yankees for various reasons.

I have had zero beers so far today...maybe that my problem?

No problems here! Talking sports trash is great. I do take offense at being called a Yankees fan, haha! I understand as I can't stand arrogant Yankees fans either.

I'm not a fan of small market teams. if you can't compete in the big leagues, then don't have a team

Now it looks like Cliff Lee will be a Texas Ranger( a team he wasn't to happy about being traded to) since the Mariners' rejected the Yankees offer. Wow, the rangers are pushing hard to solidify a post season run.

Dammit!

I left 22 points on my bench today by not logging in and fixing my roster to start Ian Kennedy.

That's almost exactly how far I am behind NEST. Hoping for a couple of wins from my pitching staff.

With Masterson and Pavano going today, I'd say you have a pretty good shot at pulling this one out.

Dan here lol Just putting it out there but I My full name is David Carson but often I just go by Carson.

Damn. I meant damn. As in "That damn Carson again."

Sorry for the mix up, David. Not sure why I thought it was Dan. Probably knew a Dan Carson at some point.

Nevertheless, great season so far.

Christ!

half my team is playing in the all star game. How am I one game above 500?

Oh yeah...its a popularity contest. Man the Portland Perlicks are popular!

That's what the men's room wall said. hahaha

The baseball season is a long and whacky one. Look at the All Star Game last night. What the hell is Martin Prado and Placido Polanco doing leading the league in hitting??

so, yea i know :off: but who wants to commish the FB league? I nominate Johnny, if he doesn't mind. From what I've seen since I got here, he runs a well oiled machine :mug: plus we can start hammering out details about scoring WAY before the season starts so we can draft accordingly

Johnny is a good league manager, but I think if he doesn't want to do it, you shold be the commish Ray(it was ur idea to have FFB after all)

The crap that goes on while you're asleep, I tell ya.

I'll look into the FFB on ESPN to see what they have to offer. I could certainly organize it, but you're right, we'd have to discuss scoring soon. I know baseball pretty good. I love watching football, but I don't know the intricacies of the scoring as well.

Ray, we could do a co-manager type thing I believe. I'll look into it.

ok, I have already messed up :( so, we need to decide the settings all at first. I think the scoring is fine, but I didn't set it up as a keeper, so we'd need to do a new league for that. I'm not so great at running things when it comes to details and stuff

We'll get it one set up in time. Don't fret.

I'm pissed right now. Missed out on a start by Joe Blanton. He wasn't listed as pitching on the site.

Arrrgh.

football? let me know if there is room in that one...already established I assume?

I'm taking it in the hole this week. I forgot to put in Vargas while I was on a fishing roadie...he put up 20 or so; that makes me feel better about my team at least even though I'm down 110 to the fantasy points hog Carson. Time to rest for the playoffs dude abides LOL. Dude, your phone is ringing...
