Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. The ONLY reason they are good is because of money. With a level playing field they don't even compete in the MLB because of how poorly they are run.
LOL "Leadership on the field and in the front office keep the Bronx Bomber heads above the rest of the competition"
Thats a good one...thanks for the laugh
Let me start off by saying that I am true blue, Dodger fan. I am envious of how the Yankees are run. As an organization, they are committed to fielding the best team in order to win the World Series. That should be the goal of EVERY MLB team, sadly, it is not.
Bottom line,MLB is a business! I do not feel sorry for any team that choses not to run its' organization as such. The Dodgers(for example) sell over 3.6 million tickets per year! Yet, the current owners run the team very poorly-we won't be signing any impact players this season or the next, our payroll will be slashed again, and the owners will hopefully be forced to sell the team to settle their divorce...(currently @ $19 million in legal fees and climbing)
There are strong loyalties between fans and their chosen teams, but loyalty takes a backseat to performance and compensation from a franchise and player perspective(respectively). Why be upset at the Yankees' for making a ton of money and reinvesting it back into the ballclub every year?
what do you mean by "level playing field"? The Yankees are obviously run very well to offer such a consistent product. They have historically had great managers, players, and owners.
