So several of us went to Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill after a work meeting. The food was good, but the bar was terrible. 20 beers on tap and 17 of them were fizzy yellow crap. If you like PBR, Old Milwaukee, of Busch Light, this place is for you. I asked the bartender if he had an IPA on draft or bottle. His answer "We have Shock Top, IT'S BASICALLY THE SAME THING"!!!!!

So, this combined with the DJ giving line dancing lessons to random hip hop songs, I won't be returning.

What exactly were you expecting from Toby Keith's I love the bar? Your description is exactly what I would expect.

Guy who plays **** cookie cutter country likes **** cookie cutter beer? I'm shocked, shocked and appalled!

Man that's funny. While it irritates me to death when I hear this crap, I can't blame people for their ignorance of real beer. Beer culture is coming around though, until then I just keep quiet when I hear this ****e, it just makes me sound like a dick when I correct them.

A guy that creates music for low/no taste rednecks and youre whining cause his bar was created for the same folks?

I'd been more surprised if it had anything but BMC.

We went to one in Vegas. They had 3 taps, and all were some horrible garbage.

But go there for the food! It was really great; I had some meatloaf type dish and it was amazing. There's no need for snobbery to get in the way of a good restaurant.

Also, and I'm not sure if it's like this at all their restaurants, but every time a T Keith song played, you can hop to the bar for a free shot. I'm not a country fan, so my boss had to tell me when a song was playing. Fun times, tho.

While I loved the "scenery" at the one in Vegas, that was about it. The service, food, and beer selection sucked. I refused to tip our waitress because she was so bad, so I found the hottest one in there and asked her if they split tips. She said no, so I gave her a $20 and told her to make sure the person who had my section knew about it. She was the hardest working person there, practically running to take care of things for people, even those not in her section. I didn't ever ask her to get me anything because I could tell she was overwhelmed and it wasn't her fault. The others, while cute, were terrible waitresses.

... "Beer culture is coming around though"....

I live in Pensacola, FL and have a 2nd home in Blairsville, GA. The population of Pensacola and the surrounding area is somewhere around 400,000. The population of Blairsville, GA is 800. Guess which city I can buy the better beer in. I'll give you one guess and the population is less than 400,000... much much less.

That's too bad you had a crappy experience. But the people in that waitress' section may have had a great time because of her hard work. The Vegas beer scene in general sux, at least on the strip. Overpriced and not good, but beer isn't the reason people go there.

I don't know much about Florida's state of food & drink culture. but I do know that Georgia and North Carolina are ahead of the curve. Part of it is probably the huge success of Sweetwater and Terrapin.

I've never been to this place, but I agree with the post title 100% and probably wouldn't even think about giving my money to one of these joints. I guess I should admit that I'm a TEXAS country fan, though, and not a mainstream fan by any means. Bluegrass, Americana, and Folk music are favorites as well. Old Crow, Hayes Carll, and Todd Snider beat out anyone singing another ****ing "drinkin' song" in my book.

I personally hope idiots who'd go to a chain theme bar DON'T catch on to the craft beer scene. Just sayin'.
