Extra Hops to Pre Hopped LME Kits?

I did some searching on the forum and couldn't get an exact answer of what I was looking for.

I have a True Brew Amber kit and am thinking about adding some Newport Pellets:
.50 oz at 30 min
.50 oz at 15 min

and then adding the LME at flame out.

Is this a good idea?

With pre-hopped extract kits,you need some plain extract for the partial boil. I use plain light DME most of the time.

Sorry, I left out that I also have 2lbs of DME. I just put it into the fermenting bucket but here is how it went:

2lbs of DME at 45 min
1oz UK Gold at 45 min
.25 oz Newport at 25 min
.25 oz Newport at 15 min
3.3lbs Amber Pre-hopped LME at flame out

Did another 15 min at lower heat just to make sure the LME was pasteurized.

The only thing that I can think of that may be an issue is that I accidentally used an un-sanitized metal mesh strainer for a few seconds when transferring the cooled wort to the fermenting bucket. I realized under five seconds in and quickly stopped the flow and sanitized the strainer and then finished the transfer.

Is there a high potential for contamination at this point?
