Hello,

I need to extend the chugger pump electric cord since it's to short for my rig. Pretty much I'm going to do what the below image shows. I just wanted to check first what type of electrical cable I should be using. On the chugger pumps label, it says they're 115V and 1.4A. Didn't know if I should go with 14/3 or 10/3 AWG.

14/3 is fine, it's rated for 15 A. You will want to get stranded wire, used for making extension cords. Home Depot or most home improvement stores will have it. I did the same for my Chugger pump.

Yup, just got my Chugger and now and doing the same thing. I had some 12/3 so I'll use that, but as TimL said 14/3 is sufficient as well. Silly 4' cord...

Did the same. I have twist lock plugs in my control panel so I made an extension cord with 3-prong on one end and twist lock on the other.

Anyone have a recommendation for cord length?

I had been using a 30' foot extension cord but that led to problems with the pumps overheating.
