I'm not positive because I've never had it before, but I bought Pyramid's Wheaten IPA today and I think it was either an infected batch or I just can't find a review of the stuff where anyone's palate is picking up on the same things as mine.
The aroma reminds me of a fruity sour ale (not a bad thing, to me, but not what I want in an IPA) and the finish is almost overwhelmingly astringent... not a pleasant hops bitter but like the finish you'd get from beer brewed with over-boiled tea leaves.
Am I nuts? Anyone else ever try this beer and think the same thing?
