Phoenix hasn't won just yet.
The Kings are playing incredible though. Playoff hockey as it should be played. An 8th-seeded team taking out #1 and #2 with only a single loss between them? Just insane. Vancouver can now feel a little less embarrassed.
I don't know how often a bottom-seeded team who just barely made it into the playoffs has won the Cup, but if LA keeps playing the way they have been, there's no doubt in my mind they'll win it all.
An interesting thing to note is that, if Phoenix moves on, the Torres suspension is really going to hurt them. They *need* players like him to deal with such a physical team as LA... that's really why they acquired him in the first place. I don't really think they'd stand a chance either way, though.
I don't know, Smith is looking unbeatable for the most part as well. It will be an awesome series.
Not calling it a conspiracy, just ****ty lopsided officiating. I'm just pointing out the reason ur not bitchin is becuase the flyers are getting the calls this series.
I have specifically said there have been some strange calls, but I don't think it's lopsided and crazy like you're sobbing about with the Rags/Caps.
Are you basing the officiating for the entire series based on two penalties called in OT in Game 3?
Bettman hates the Devils, if anyone gets hosed it's them. They've been playing a different style than the Cup teams, at least this series. They're really not as painful to watch as y'all think.
The Devils have not played at all like they normally do or like they have for the last 10 - 15 years of boring, trap hockey. They're forechecking and playing awesome and it's why their winning. They're not getting a one goal lead and then sitting on it for the duration of the game. They can't and they know that because Brodeur and the defense aren't what they used to be.
They're actually pretty entertaining and awesome to watch. I say that as a fan of the sport, not just a Flyers fan as they continue to challenge and beat the Flyers.
Flyers are working hard, cycling, and pushing back against the Devils' initial push and it's earned them two power plays, the second coming up after the commercial break.
There's no conspiracy going. The NHL and Bettman hate the Flyers. They have absolutely no reason to influence the game on behalf of the Flyers. There's not face of the league superstar in Philly to push for viewer ratings, so I'm really not sure where your silly ideas of an NHL-based agenda to help the Flyers is coming from. Are you out of tin foil hats again?
And that only took 7 seconds to go up 1-0. Keep it going boys. That's what they need to do, get traffic in front, and tip pucks. Pressure Marty and don't let the Devils continue to clear and ice the puck.
****GASP**** What's that? A Flyers penalty? No. Can't be. Look - it's on Lilja, who sucked bad in Game 3.
