So far I've done a kit, and two very lightly hopped brews (pumpkin ale and cherry graff). I wanted to start exploring hops, and Hallertau sounded interesting for an English style IPA. Any thoughts?

5 gal batch (3 gal boil).
Steep:
8oz Crystal 40L
8oz Victory

Boil 60min:
3 lb Light DME
1oz Admiral hops

20 minutes:
0.75oz Hallertau

10 minutes:
4 lb Light DME

5 minutes:
0.75 oz Hallertau

Flameout:
0.75oz Hallertau

Pitching some Nottingham.

Did you ever brew this? How did it turn out? I'm curious how Hallertau and Nottingham played together. I'm toying with trying them together in an ale.

Your first hop addition is at 20 minutes? I would have just boiled for 20 minutes. You don't need to boil extract for 60 minutes. Save 40 minutes of your day.
