Electrician's advice Needed

I have a 220v 5500w heating element and I want put a dial on to control it.

any suggestions?

old stove controller.. if it can take the amps.
otherwise PID + SSR.

or

Just put a double pole 30A switch on it and do it by hand. This is by far the easier, cheaper solution. By far. Home Depot sells this type of switch.
