Elderberry mead - (Dried Elderberries)

Can I use Dry elderberries to make a melomel(Mead) ...elderberries are kinda hard to come by fresh or frozen which both are expensive even the juice is expensive...but dry elderberries are the most economic So I was wondering If I could use Dried Elderberries instead.

They are probably heavily oxidised so I would not.

Go for it in a 1 gallon batch, please post the results. You may want to try making a tincture with the dried elderberries using vodka.
Make a plain mead, let it finish and age, then add the tincture to taste.
I did a quick google search and there are many recipes for elderberry mead out there, some look better than others....
The topic has also been discussed here on HBT a few times.
