Economics of Homebrewing

I’ve been tracking my brewing costs ever since starting this awesome hobby and decided to compile a post to show off what the numbers look like (so far). I half-jokingly said the point of doing this was to see if homebrewing was actually less expensive (tl:dr - it certainly can be, but a lot is dependent on how much expensive equipment you buy up front), but really I did this just for fun. I’d still be homebrewing even if it cost more than what I could buy in a store because I find the hobby fun.

One last thing - I’m located in Ontario, Canada so my numbers may look quite a bit different than your personal numbers
