Ran a batch of my pale ale with this yeast and i'm blown away by the funk. Is it a super funk or did my starter get something weird in it? (the starter definitely had the same funk as the beer. I didn't taste it but i could smell it big time. Not bad, just well Funky).

fermented a bit warm 68-70?

just curious if this is normal for this yeast or if something went haywire.

Thanks!!!!

It's definitely going to be more estery than a cali ale yeast- how would you describe the funk? 68-70 is on the warm side but not worrisome. Was the room 68 or was the beer 68? That's a big difference- the beer can easily be 10F over ambient during fermentation.
