I'm 3/4 of the way through capping a 5 gallon batch of Oatmeal Stout and I look over and see my priming sugar sitting there unopened. :( I guess I had too many things going on at once (phone, dogs, etc.) and it slipped my mind.

Since I'm almost done capping, I just finished capping all the bottles. My plan is to go to the LHBS tomorrow and pick up a package of carb tabs and more bottle caps, and then one by one, uncap and carb tab each bottle and then put a new cap on.

Is this going to ruin the batch, or should I RDWHAHB?

You should be fine. This isn't the first time this has happened. Just follow your plan and make sure you use the new caps.

no, you should be fine. just use a sterelased caps and spoon to pick up and drop carb tabs.

Thanks for the help!

But, what do you mean by "spoon to pick up and drop tabs"? I've never used carb tabs before, but I've seen others use them and they've just dropped them in by hand.

Well to minimize the chance of infection being as sanitary as possible would be a good idea, but, I'm with you, I'd probably just drop them in by hand.

yea, you can use your hands to pick up and drope crab tablets, just be sanitary about it.
