I bet you guys are getting pummeled! I just went into the garage to roast some coffee and do a little quality assurance on an IPA and nearly got blown out. Hope this lets up by T-day so I can smoke some of nosnhojr's ABT's on the grill to get me to the main event.

Holy fright is it windy and nasty here.

I don't think it is supposed to let up until Like Saturday. I also don't remember nasty weather like this in the past 3 years I've lived here. We lost power at the house for a while too.

We don't have to deal with it much longer though--we are headed out to Chicago to visit my family for Turkey Day. Leaving at midnight tonight. I have the first shift of driving. Should be fun with this wind and rain!

Flew from Atlanta to JFK today and then out here to Austin, it was continuous light and occassional moderate turbulence at all altitudes along the east coast, very rough rides out there, out west here it was smooth as glass at FL360.

You might want to consider taking 301 and then 50 over the bay bridge to 301 on the Eastern Shore, there is going to be a lot of traffic (record numbers).

As far as Delaware goes, coming back Sunday, we got stuck in traffic at the Delaware welcome center as four lanes come down to two. Just FYI.

Aye- consider using Rte. 40 around Delaware, into Jersey. You pick it up a lot of places, but one way to go is to take Rte. 24 (an exit off 95 north in Harford County) out past Bel Air, to Rte 40 east/north.

301 has some traffic lights and the speed limit drops to 35 in those areas (through Maryland), the Bay Bridge should be clear heading East and then 50/301, 301 on the Eastern shore is a two lane highway with minimal traffic lights (and one rest area just after the 50/301 split in Maryland). After traveling on 301 for a long while (close to Delaware) it gets congested with traffic lights, but moves steadily. If you where to get stuck in ONE traffic jam on 95 and avoid it by taking this route, it is well worth it.

TAKE A MAP (any time you are on unfamiliar roads, the rest stop should have some if they are open).

Can you make sure all your crappy east coast weather is done 11/30 - 12/6 please? I'll be in Hampton, VA at this time... Dude, perhaps we could hook up - or at least at a minimum watch the Pack somewhere on the 3rd? Last time I went to hooters but maybe there is a better place?

Actually, I kind of enjoy this weather this time of year, especially since I'm on vacation and can just kind of hibernate in the house. Definitely ready for a change after several days, though...hopefully we can clear out a bit today, although it's supposed to carry on intermittently through T-day.

The little trickle behind the house, "Terrible Creek", is now a rushing torrent with some small waves! If I remember the plat correctly it's in the 100 year flood plain at this point. Some areas towards the coast got >6" of rain and strong winds for the last few days...it's actually worse than a hurricane in a lot of respects.

Which way did you go? After telling you about 301, a friend of mine called on his way back from Delaware and had been stuck on 301 for over 2 hours. I guess no roads were open yesterday. Sorry about your luck, I'll refrain from offering any more travel advice.

we took 95. we figured it would be better to stuck in traffic with no traffic lights rather than be stuck in traffic with traffic lights.
