I know there's a lot of debate on whether or not it's appropriate to reuse a yeast cake, however, I've successfully brewed an 11% IIPA off of an old Wyeast 1056 cake before. I've currently got an IPA finishing up using US-05 and was wondering if there's any issue with reusing a yeast cake from a dry yeast rather than a liquid yeast. I would like to try to reuse this cake for another big IIPA.

For what it's worth, I have reused dry yeast from US-05, US-04 and Nottingham with good results. I have both washed as well as just repitched the yeast cake.

A dry yeast that has fermented out a beer is handled the same as if the original ferment was with a liquid yeast.
