The two are slightly different but will get the same net results... One is 'dried malt extract' and the other is 'malt extract syrup'. They're the same thing, but one has less 'water' in it and is in a powder form. They arent exactly 1/1 ratio either, if you look on the wiki:

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/wiki/index.php/Dry_Malt_Extract

it tells its a .8 lbs of dry to 1.0 lbs liquid malt ratio... so you can interchange them, but make sure they're the right lbs per type. Also there are differing colors as well, so be sure you're getting pale malt extract vs dark malt extract etc.

Yes it is. Just make sure you select "amber" in the dropdown selection, although getting light wont make a whole lot of difference, just a little lighter in color. Also that recipe calls for 2 lbs, so you would need approximately 2 bags of that DME.

* 3-4 lb. Pale malt extract syrup, unhopped
* 2 lb. Amber dry malt extract
* 12 AAU of bittering hops (any variety) For example, 1 oz. of 12% AA Nugget, or 1.5 oz. of 8% AA Perle
* 5 AAU of finishing hops (Cascade or other) For example, 1 oz. of 5% Cascade or 1.25 oz. of 4% Liberty
* 2 packets of dried ale yeast

I think this may be whats in question

Oh gotcha about the amber... Amber is definitely darker colored so you'll want to ensure you get that, the other was pale, so they aren't an exact match.

Yeah I was talking about the dry extract, and thank you for the canadian website, the one i listed was the only one I can find, thanks guys
